Consistently great
I went Morandi twice over the past week. Both times were excellent. There were four of us. Everyone raved about the food. I had the escarole salad and the spaghetti and meatballs. Both were awesome. I tried the linguini and clam sauce and it was also really good. Some one else had a salad with roquefort which they were very pleased about. Thumbs up Morandi!! This is a wonderful restaurant.

no matter what we say it'll always be crowded
Ha. We had to wait 10 minutes today for the uncomfortable one foot from the hostess stand table... and those chairs! God. You can hardly move under those little tables. No matter what complaints we may have however, Morandi will always be selling but it beats me how dumb I can be to not ask more questions about the dishes: Oh, the Waitress would really get mad then. (If we could find her) $12 fried artichokes? I expected a plate of them, sort of. But THREE? We're talking the little artichokes here, not the big ones, that's $4 for a baby artichoke. When we said something Waitress laughed and tossed off "Well, it's an appetizer!" Yes, A Keith McNally appetizer. The food is good, most of it, that's a certainty. My bolognese dish was ample and really delicious. The arugula is more delicious than I can make at home and I"m a good cook/shopper. The bacala cod dish however, that my friend ate, had a wretched smell. $102 for 3, one coca cola. No desserts, 2 salads. And those $4 baby artichokes. That magic wand KM waves, wow, it's something.

Wonderful and Delicious Brunch
The best brunch I had yet! I got the ricotta fritters and the breakfast pizza. The coffee was fresh and flavorful, the waitress was very knowledgable. Overall a fantastic experience!

Great delivery option
Just had a delivery order from Morandi, really pleased with the food - nice and hot, good portions, super tasty. So nice to have another delivery option that comes out of a quality kitchen. Delivery guy was nice as well - and got everything in under 30 mins on a Saturday night.

Still Hungry
I have never left an Italian restaurant hungry ... until now. The calamari was bland and unseasoned. I had the ziti and the portion was tiny and again, bland. I was going to ask for some salt to give our meal a bit of flavor, but our server never showed her face again after taking our order. They have a really nice outdoor seating space in a quiet part of the West Village but that's all this place has going for them. I wish I could have separated the tips for the busboys from the waitress, she literally spent 20 seconds servicing us; we even had to ask a busboy for the check.

Nice place/Nice food
Always enjoy this place. Never had a problem w/ food or service. Yeah it's loud, but that happens when a small place gets crowded. Can't understand the person who ordered a double vodka & complained that they got charged double, duh....................

Mostly Hype - Not Much Else
This place is crowded, noisy, rude managers (although the servers are ok), small portions (which is fine if impeccably prepared - but this food is not impeccable). We had a so-so Mother's Day brunch here, but wanted to give it another go since the place is really cute. Food very unevern qualityy and flavor. Returned for dinner - appetizers were nice, although uninspired. Entrees were eh - my husband's steak was so overcooked and my pasta was tiny and way too al dente (I'm Italian so I know from pasta). To top it off, the tables were so tight that the servers were literally draped across my back. After being told, they still did it. We freaked out and the useless manager brought over the check and didn't try at all to pacify us - jave a drink at the bar, here's a little dessert, something. I don't get it with these McNally restaurants - ugh! Pastis and Schiller's not all that either. Won't go back.
