Eh. Nothing to write home about...
If you do go here, you HAVE to try the meatballs. they are fantastic. They have pine nuts and raisins (sounds strange, I know - just trust me on this) in a delicious marinara sauce. Started with the Ensalate Verde which, although good, was only about 10 pieces of lettuce in some red wine vinnaigrete. For my entree I had the Grilled Sea Bream which was a light white fish in olive oil and capers. Decent, nothing great - but the size of the entrees was not impressive by any means. Value is not great here at all but the food is...well...'eh'. Take it or leave it.

Get us in and Rush us out
What a wonderful and fun looking restaurant! Enjoyed going in and sitting down at a window table fairly early in the evening. Could see what was happening on the street and could take in the atmospheric ambiance of Morandi - which was great. The waiter was in a bit of a rush for us to take our order. The food took a little while but that was fine as it was quite delicious although the portions were quite tiny especially for the price. During the meal a bus lady kept coming over wanting to take away plates that still had some food. Finally I told her not to come back again. Just as we barely finished the last bite the waiter came over and asked if we would like anything more which we did not. The check came quickly and we paid and left. Especially at a nice looking place like this, we like to relax and take in the surroundings. Loved the food and food and ambiance, but would not come back here again.

sadly disappointed
Was looking forward to fabulous spaghetti carbonara and was sadly disappointed; not enough pancetta, dry pasta and definitely was not creamy enough. Porchetta sandwich was oily yet the meat was dry and not crunchy. Salad was so salty

not worth it
entrees are highly priced and come bare on the plate. no vegetable, nothing extra. 2 entrees, one vegetable, a small caraffe of wine, and nothing else - no coffee, no appetizer, no desert - will set you back about $130-$140 and you will still be hungry. its not worth it for dinner. stick to lunch/brunch, or go somewhere thats really worth these prices.

Horrendous Delivery Service
We live in the neighborhood and order delivery from here once in awhile. It's pricey for delivery but we didn't mind because the food quality is usually high. But I just dealt with the rudest service tonight. We were told our order would take 30 mins. We call back 50 mins later and they tell us it hasn't gone out and they're just cooking it up. I call back after an hour from the original time to see if we should cancel and the guy on the phone took the snootiest attitude. I was told we already called back once, they're cooking it up, and it'll go out when it can go out. He practically hung up before I could ask a full question. They clearly feel it's ok to be egregiously late and it's not their problem. Just yours.

Not recommended
This restaurant is ridiculously over rated. Their food is nothing in comparison to some of the great Italian place in the city. The workers are incredibly rude. Overall this place isn't worth your time.

our favorite place in nyc
my boyfriend and I have been in NYC for over 10 years and Morandi is our favorite restaurant. We are there most weekends for brunch and have dinner there often too. The service is always amazing and I have never had a bad dish.
