Listen, it's a diner so manage your expectations, but Moonstruck is my standby diner in Murray Hill. The burgers are the best in the neighborhood and the pancakes are delish. Great spot for late night too.

I've been living in murray hill for the past 3 years - and this is without question the best diner in the area. The food is really very good and fresh, and the portions are huge. A salad is enough for two.

While the food was fine, the waiter padded our bill. Not recommended.

This place food is hit or miss, sometimes its good, sometimes it has much to be desired. My biggest complaint is that this diner which is normally a little pricier than most in the city, has the nerve to switch the menu late at night with higher prices. A Burger with Cheddar Cheese Deluxe which is normally about $8 and change is over $11 bucks if you go there at night. To me this is insulting, I prefer Gemini, Sunflower or better yet, one of the bars that serve food.

Ventured to Moonstruck for brunch on Sunday with a party of three. The only available table was in the upstairs dining room, which was filled with screaming children. Luckily, I do not drink, but be warned about coming to this place with a headache on a Sunday morning. This place is overrun by bratty kids. How can a diner screw up a cup of coffee? Moonstruck found a way. The house brew tasted like battery acid, only more lukewarm. Refill offers, however, were prompt and plentiful and unnecessary. My tablemates went traditional with their orders; 2 fried eggs for one, bagel and lox for the other. Feeling adventurous, I ordered the "Byron sandwich," Moonstruck's fancy name for a fried chicken sandwich on a sub roll. To say my fried chicken was overcooked was an understatement. It was charred. Rubbery. No juice whatsoever. A Ginsu knife probably wouldn't be able to cut into it. The accompanying fries were lifeless and unseasoned. Neither did my dining mates enjoy their choices. The eggs were described as "an abomination," and the small bagel and lox order went unfinished. Service was decent. Our waiter seemed familiar with the menu, even my obscure "Byron sandwich," though he did not warn me the chicken was evidently made by Goodyear Tire Co. Special requests of no-bacon and adding mozzarella cheese were honored. Go to Moonstruck on Third if you enjoy overpriced, subpar food in a grating atmosphere, but with good service.

Whenever I have ordered a chicken dish (grilled chicken sandwich, garden salad topped with slices of chicken), the chicken is always almost spongy. It seems like they always cook their chicken in a microwave. TWhy can't they cook it well-done and crispy if asked to have it served that way? A shame.

Their prices are a little pricier than other diners, but I would say it's worth it. Food is always good and hot, I don't usually have to wait too long. Sometimes the waitstaff could be a bit more attentive and friendlier.
