Moonstruck on 2nd
Posted by SusanW on 09/29/2013
Hubby and I stopped in for an inexpensive lunch while wandering around the city on a Saturday. Ordered the Habitat - turkey, bacon & swiss on a crusty roll with fries, cole slaw and a pickle. Food came in about 10 minutes and the servings were huge! Crusty roll was hero size cut in half and the fries were hot and fresh. We each took half the meal home which made it a great value especially at Manhattan prices.

..With great food. I have never eaten in but order breakfasts and salads regularly. The order is always right and delivered quickly.

My two kids and I were in NYC for a show. Found this place by walking around. Beautiful decor, my 11yr old daughter thought it was beautiful-very clean and looks like recently redone. Best fries ever, agreed upon by all of us. My daughter order pancakes and bacon, huge serving. My son the burger, moist and juicy. I had there "Moonstruck" sandwich-meat tender, wish I could've finished it all. Best Roast beef sandwich ever had-only could have been better if au jus on side, but not dry at all. Kids wish diners by us were as good (and we have some pretty good ones). Waiter was very attentive and even refilled my sons water bottle when we were leaving. Not one single complaint. Would go to again next time in area.

I live 1 block from this place and ordered 2 soups and a veggie burger. Over an hour later it finally arrived. I called 3 times (being sick probably made me more irritable, and otherwise would have gone out to get it myself). The worst part is that each time I called they said it would be here in 5 minutes or less which was definitely not the case. Be honest and hurry it up.

We are locals and this used to be a decent place for breakfast and such but the quality, quantity, kitchen prep and service are all disappointing. My wife's Western Omelette was burned like it was cooked from leftover grease (waiter's reply, we pan cook those now), homefries are burned on the outside and undercook from the inside. My two eggs with ham (two paper thin slices burned) plus extra sausage (two burned sausage with undercook homefries inside out). Not once did the waiter came and ask if we need anything or is everything good. If the owner wants to improve the business then you should offer good quality, quantity and service.

Thick, doughy (raw) onion rings. Undercooked chicken sandwich and a poorly (cheaply) made gyro platter. A trifecta of epic failure. Please spend your money and time some where else...

I can't wait for the weekends to get here because I know Saturday morning I'll wake up to a delicious bacon egg and cheese with a side of waffles with ice cream on top. The premium roast blend is the best in the city whether served hot or cold. I don't know what I would do, I'm definitely moonstruck. No, but seriously, good for the price.
