Lovely Place
My husband and I walk by here all the time and for the first time stopped in tonight. We decided to pop in for just dessert and a cocktail on our way home. When we entered, I asked if this was OK and they were very nice to allow us to sit in the main dining area. The service was really wonderful. Very nice, always a smile from every person we interacted without being pushy or overbearing. My husband really liked his tiramisu and I had the cheesecake which was pretty tasty. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but my husband does and he thought it was delicious. I'm looking forward to going back to try dinner.

AMAZING food
The truffle risotto and saffron risotto (risotto Milanese) are amazing. I also had the potato gnocchi in gorgonzola sauce which was great. I love that you can do a tasting of three pastas. The melanze appetizer with goat cheese foam was also great. THe space is gorgeous, and given the quality of the food, it is well worth the price. I haven't been to very many other places that include truffle shavings in a dish for under $30. It is also very vegetarian friendly which was great. Killer capuccinos too.

great risotto!!!!!!
i have already eaten here twice, and cant wait to go again.I happened to be there on opening day, by chance, and even then the service was wonderful, and the food delicious.I walked in and was greeted as if i had been a family member.I love the setting and layout on the middle of the city, it alsmot seems as if you are out in the country.I started off wht the lobster salad with a warm tomato gazpacho and it was excellant.I am always looking for risotto that reminds me of milan and the traditional risotto milanese was it.They used carnaroli rice instead of the arborio, and the creamy texture with the saffron brought me right back to some of the risottos of milano.I had a devine dessert of white and dark chocalate mousse, that was the perfect edning to the meal. From the owner ,manager, waitstaff, and chef who came out everything left me wanting to come back for a second time.I came a second time with my girlfriend, who enjoyed it just as much as i did.She started with the burratina, very fresh mozzarella salad, and i wanted to try soemthing different, but the lobster salad was calling me.She enjoyed immensely the linguine, as i tried a different risotto, with shrimp and spring peas. The two dishes we had were both splendid. My girlfriend mentioned the service, and is ready to go back again. It was my luck to walk in by happenstance, and now i am ready for a third palte of risotto!!

If you want to feel special!
I've always wondered what this new restaurant had to offer as I'd watched it through construction everyday walking home. So, I finally tried it with 2 girlfriends and it was a great treat. First, the hostess was really nice and friendly and everyone else treated us like we were the most important client they'd had all day. The waiters were attentive but not overbearing. I just loved the fact that outside of this restaurant is a bustling street but once you get in you'd never even think about the contrasting athmosphere of the outside. The ambience, provided by that great little garden, was relaxing and appreciated after a lond day's work. Although the prices were a bit high for an everyday meal, the food was so delicious that it was totally worth it for us. I've never been for luxury but I decided to order their risotto with black truffles (hey, when in Rome right) --to die for!! I loved the fact that although the food was rich, it wasn't overwhelming and not too heavy. I usually expect Italian food to be heavy but this one was just perfect. And of course, no meal is complete without dessert and oh my gosh we loved it. Ordered just 2 to be shared by the 3 of us - tiramisu and gelato - completed the whole meal. With all of these, what I loved the best was the service. Yes, we spent money but it was worth it with how we felt while we were there. It was like a privelege just to be part of such an elite and special group even for just a couple of hours. I definitely will try to go back there again.

Not your average Italian
We found the quality of the food exceptional. They make their own bread & pasta & it shows. The food is carefully prepared with attention to detail and presentation with a lot of variety on the menu. The space is large & airy with great light. The service was attentive but not overbearing. If you know and love authentic Italian food Montenapo won't disappoint. Great addition to the neighborhood and one of the best Italian meals we've had recently.
