I came last week for restaurant week and I thought the food was great. They offered one of the better pre-fix menus I’ve sampled. The portions were great and very tasty. My friend didn’t go with the pre-fix and ordered the pasta special that night; it was flat noodle pasta with a duck ragu. It was very original and delicious. The prices were reasonable considering the great food and location. It was worth every penny. The staff was very cordial as well.

Very nice ambience but overpriced. There are many other Italian restaurants worth the money... $ 100.00 for ONE person.... 3 drinks @ $15.00 (Black Label) each is too much. I have been there several times and they never charged me the $ 15.00 .

I have been going to Montebellos Restaurant for over fifteen years. It is an elegant restaurant, with a beautiful decor, authentic Italian food, great service, and very pleasant place to have a conversation while you are eating. I am astounded to see any reviews describing this place as having bad service. I've never had anything but the very best service at this restaurant. Lunch is very busy, because of the business crowd from Park Avenue, but dinner is much more relaxed and much quieter. The are also amenable to dishes off the menu.

I came onto this website to write a review and I was surprised to see the previous two reviews. My husband took me to Montebello last night for Valentine's Day and we had a beautiful time. I haven't had Italian food like this in years. The service was great and the Valentine's Day menu was very good. There was a nice selection for a very reasonable price. Their wine list was impressive as well. I had a great time and the restaurant was very romantic.

Unfortunately I did not read the below review before deciding to have a large group dinner at Montebello. We made a reservation a couple of weeks ago for 15 people for last Friday at 8:00pm. A few extra people ended up confirming last minute, and on Thursday we had 18 people. We called Montebello to confirm our reservation and asked if they could accommodate our larger group at the same time. They said they would have to push the reservation back to 9:00pm with the additional 3 people, which was completely fine with us. When our group of 18 showed up around 8:45pm, we were told by the management that they did not have our reservation saved. This is completely absurd, since we had spoken to them the day before to ensure everything was in order. They claimed that they called one of us on Friday, and did not hear back, so they assumed that we were not coming. What?! What type of place only holds a large group reservation if you confirm the day of, and not the day before? I’m pretty sure only one with management who has absolutely no clue what they are doing. Also, we found out from the voicemail that they called my friend’s work number to “re-re-confirm” at 7:30pm on Friday. Of course you aren’t going to get an answer! She wasn’t at work since she was getting ready to go the dinner she spoke to you about 24 hours ago! Appreciate you leaving the message for her to listen to on Monday, nice touch. Thankfully we were able to find a far superior establishment nearby (there are many) who wanted to accommodate us. I will never step foot inside Montebello ever again for a gathering of any size.

Some restaurants are made for restaurant week.....This one is not. They were so busy that you caould tell that it was unusual for them. It was swamped when we got there at 7:30 and were seated for our reservation at 8:15 but it went downhill from there. No one appeared for 20 minutes, not even to take a drink order. Then it took until 9:15 after 4 requests to get stale bread. The first course came at 9:30 of the 4 of us, 3 had nice choices but the minestrone soup was ice cold. We were still eating the first course when dinner arrived and although the food was goos we were not really ready for dinner. Not to mention desert which arrived while dinner was being removed from the table. Too bad the food was pretty good but the experience terrible.

I brought my girlfriend and some friends here for a birthday and we had a nice time. The food was very good and so was the service. This is definately a place we would all come back to. Great job!
