Poor fondue quality
We went with a group of fix and the quality of the cheese was not that great. They put 4 different kind of cheeses in there, which is unusual for a Swiss cheese fondue. The service was OK but not excellent.

Best value in NYC
Although I like to try new places, Mont Blanc is one that I come to every time I visit NYC. You absolutely cannot beat their brunch. Less than $15 for a bloody mary, omelet, bread, and coffee. The food is absolutely delicious. Last Saturday, I ordered the eggs benedict with the crabcake, while my husband had the portabello mushroom omelet. Both came with roesti potatoes which are crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. I wanted to lick my plate! We both enjoyed the coffee also. The waiter served us, then left the carafe on the table so we could have as much as we wanted. Will definitely return here when I am in NYC again.

Unbelievable business lunch
Today was my third visit to this restaurant. It has become my favorite theatre district eatery. The business lunch is a tremendous value both for quality and quantity. I had to skip dinner tonight. My wife and I had two different fish dishes, i.e., salmon and talapia with happy results. The service is efficient, friendly and unrushed. It was a delicious and relaxing experience. The owner and the waiter helped to give the restaurant a nice welcome atmosphere.

Small bit of Europe in the theater district
Stopped in on a lark -- in a place like Manhattan, where there's a Japanese or Thai place on every corner, Swiss food becomes something exotic. But I was glad I dropped by. First, the atmosphere. Everything, from the "forced" atrium area holding back the weight of tree branches in the courtyard, to the faded stains washed into the tablecloth, to the slight chip in the base of my water glass, all the way to the stoic, professional waiters, radiates a kind of tarnished elegance, like a remote, B-list ski chalet restaurant that's doing its best to compete with the celebrity hotspots. My dining companions were a group of older New Yorkers, slightly nonplussed by the food selection. They couldn't figure out whether this was a French or Italian restaurant. The menu is actually heavy with German-influenced dishes, so, rather than fighting against the tide I rolled with it. My cold smoked trout appetizer came to the table on a platter overflowing with potato salad, gherkins, pickled beets, cucumbers, lettuce, cold cabbage, cherry tomatoes, and on and on. The veal bratwurst was pasty white and nourishing, the skin brown speckled from the grill. The supporting cast this time included fried onions in a broth reduction, a huge plate of nicely rendered rosti potatoes, and your basic vegetable of the day (broccoli and cauliflower in a light cheese) sauce, topped off by a screw tube of what the waiter proudly described as Swiss mustard. The cherry sundae dessert was nothing remarkable, but didn't skimp on ripe, sweet cherries. The bottle of Swiss wine (Dole des Monts from Valais) was actually the highlight of the meal. A light-bodied red (a rarity), this blend of Gamay (Beaujolais) and Pinot Noir is mild enough to go with salad, but has enough substance to stand up to many meat or fish dishes. The markup from retail is also not excessive. For a quick vacation in Switzerland, minus the skiing, drop by Mont Blanc for an exotically normal meal to liven up an average night.
