Way Downhill
Very sad day when I have to admit my favorite slice place in the area is no longer acceptable. Sugary, undercooked sauce(if fresh tomatoes I could accept the undercooked part) and a totally tasteless crust, now has me searching for a new slice. Sorry guys....I gave 3 recent visits before this review and the quality just isn't there anymore.

Gone downhill
I have been a customer for well over ten years. Unfortunately, it has been sold twice and now the owners, who try hard, have lost something. Mondello's has lost the good fresh Italian flavors and it is now bland. Sorry to see the change.

Terrific slice, even better sub
Looks like a run of the mill pizza shop on a random street, but the slices are great and the subs are even better. The meatball parm is huge, covered in sauce and topped with a load of cheese then baked in the oven to toast it. Chicken parm and eggplant parm are also great, but the meatball is the standout. You can't go wrong with any of the slices, but the all star is the buffalo chicken slice. Best I've had anywhere and I try anything buffalo everywhere I go. Service is OK, great if you are a regular, average if you're not. Once had a guy forget that I paid him and it nearly turned into a very awkward situation before I was able to spark his memory. That being said, go there if you are in the area looking for a quick bite and you won't be disappointed. Like most all places, delivery lessens the quality.

My favorite chicken parm!
The restaurant is not big on decor but the food is wonderful. The staff is fast and pleasant. There are other places closer to the office we could go but we walk right past them to get to Mondello.

Hot Sandwiches
Mondello's is your ordinary dive Pizzeria with extraordinary sandwiches worthy of going out of your way for. As a condiment junky I appreciate that they add additional sauce and parmesan cheese (with your approval) before throwing the full hero in the oven to heat it up. They go through so many trays of their eggplant, chicken and shrimp parm that you are guaranteed a fresh stack. The sauce is a little too sweet but the quality of the base parm selection and bread make it all worth while.
