    Atmosphere

I went to Monaco's for dinner with a few friends and I must say though the food is good it is not good enough for the prices and the waiters though helpful seemed to have inter restaurant issues. The front manager seems like one of the customers. I don't feel comforitable with the leader of a group looking like a customer. I would not go back there again especially with all the good food places around.

    great

I am a regular at Monaco and enjoy every meal -- brunch on weekends, lunch and dinner. I was just there this past weekend for dinner and their delicious grilled salmon Monaco is the perfect place for friendly, excellent service and delicious food for any meal of the day.

don't ask for more iced tea...

I have worked in restaurants for almost 10 years here in the city and I have been going out to eat in Manhattan pretty much my entire life. Never in any of the dozens of places I've worked or hundreds of places I've eaten out at have I heard of any company charging for an ice tea refill. Ever. Ever. Ever. On top of that my mother didn't care for the coffee she ordered and that was on the check as well. The waiter thinks he's some sort of mix between Jerry Lewis and Rodney Dangerfield which was funny for the first few minutes, but when he insisted my mother 'keep drinking the coffee it's good and expensive' he was over the line. We would have talked to a manager but there didn't seem to be one present. I always wanted to try this spot as it's next to Sarabeth's and I never like to wait...but now I know why that place is always so empty while people wait an hour to eat next door. The food was fine, but very bland, I'll wait in line next door next time.

    ok food poor service

We went to Monaco because they could accept a large crowd at the last minute. The food was good, but the waiter had a terrible attitude. He thought he was funny by calling us "the biggest bunch of neurotics" and stuff like that. He barely smiled. The other staff was friendly. In addition, dessert took a very long time and the "pie a la mode' turned out to be pie and an additional dessert, so a scoop of icecream on top was another $5. Not a very nice topping to the meal. We had a nice time and nice dinner, but the waiter really spoiled it for me and my husband, the hosts who paid the $500 tab for 10 people. So beware

    a winner for brunch

Reasonably priced, pleasant, great for brunch and you can smirk at the people standing in line for Sarabeth's next door. quite good.

    Tasteless

I would not go back. Although the food seem fresh, nothing was great. I was there on Valentin day and the vegetable couscous I was served was tasteless. Other than the vegetable taste, there was not a hint of spice, salt or herbs. Not even cumin... I could have make a better one at home. The chicken tajine my husband ate was overcook. The greek salad my son ate was made with iceberg lettuce and was very small. I wouldn't have mind a small salad had it be made in the traditional way ie w/o lettuce. The cheesecake which took forever to arrive was nothing to write home about and at $8 was expensive when I could have gotten myself a better piece of cake for 1.99$ at Fairway.
