The atmosphere and service are delightful at this small cafe, and most of my lunch was very good. The omelet was better than most (though not quite up to Paris), the salad and dressing were superior, and the price was reasonable. The frites that came with the omelet were disappointing because so ordinary, though. I didn't have dessert, but two tables were having what seemed like an expresso ice cream soda -- it looked divine, and the customers seemed very happy.

I have eaten at Mon Petit several times and always enjoy the delicious food! Not to mention the service and atmosphere are also wonderful! Highly recommended!!

I ordered a chorizo omelet that came with potatoes and note the following... The omelet was so overcooked that it basically crumbled on my plate when i attempted to eat it and the potatoes tasted as if they had been left in a microwave for much too long! With the ambiance being perfect and the service impeccable, this was a huge disappointment for the food to be so lousy...I mean, how difficult is it to cook an omelet, after all? As I ordered, I was thinking, "what a find," and "I can't believe I have never been here," as long as I have been in New York; I can assure you that I will never go back, again! :(

I went here during restaurant week and from the advertisement outside, I was hoping for a nice plate of beef bourguignon. The place was small, intimate with a nice decor, and reminded me of a special time in Paris. Unfortunately, when I went to place my order, she said they were out and the other choice for the prix fix was also not available. I feel as though it was false advertisement, everything on the special prix-fix menu for restaurant week was not available. So I opted for steak au poivre avec frites. The steak was tough like rubber bands and the fries were the frozen wrinkle cut fries. Horrible, I asked the waitress that I requested for medium rare, the hostess was not happy, she returned with a bloody piece of meat, that was practically raw all the way through! Worst food, worst experience! Don't waste your money!

Every time we've come here, the experience has been a happy one! Love the food, love the service. The food is always well prepared and well plated. I have had brunch here several times. The egg omelets (I only eat egg whites) are so delicious that I don't mind missing the yolks. Served with fries or red bliss potatoes and a lovely salad, it's quite a meal. Even though my restricted diet does not allow dairy (at a French bistro?!) I have wonderful choices. The smoked salmon platter served with all the trimmings was perfect even without the cream cheese. My husband loves the coffee and enjoys the French toast with perfectly cooked bacon. I would come here every week just for the selection of fresh and well prepared food and the relaxing atmosphere of a French Cafe.

Looking forward to this little French cafe experience, my friend and I were truly shocked at the stale bread from lunch, expensive glass of common wine, and filet of sole which was in pieces - not a plump whole filet. Tasteless. Dried and discolored. Tasteless sauce of Julienne vegetables and two little white potato pieces. Unbelievable waste of $45 each.

Mon Petit Cafe is my favorite restaurant in the Upper East Side. The french waitresses are so friendly, attentive and genuinely concerned with your dining experience. The crosisants are scrumptious, the coq-au-vin is din-o-mite and the salad nicoise is delicieux! I always feel calm and comfortable in this classic parisien cafe!!
