Why I go choose Momoya 1-4 times a week

Firstly ,I live 200 paces from the doorstep of Momoya Uptown. Secondly I live 220 paces from two other well known japanese restaurants. * Momoya is by far the best appointed in respects to the quality of fish, methods of preparation and presentation, and atmosphere. The selection of Sake is deep with quality and flavor. Ask for recommendations because they can really help you decide. The Omikase is (of course) the best, but I am so satisfied with the sushi/sashimi combo. It changes depending on what they have and every once in a while you will get something you would expect in the omikase (like baby yellow tail or flying fish). The Mushroom soup is really full of mushrooms and the flavor of enoki and shitake. Many people don't try the katsudon (chicken'kat'-fried'su'-rice'don')(i think) It is really good chicken cutlet with a soy based sauce with egg over rice. It is a really good choice for a hearty meal on a cold winter day. Even if its cold try either one of the ice creams because they are strong in flavor - the azuki bean or red bean ice cream is my favorite. The chocolate cake is good as well if you havent eaten a whole lot because it is very rich. (but they micro it to get it warm-which to me is a real dissapointment) The last reason Momoya is my choice is because the crouds havent hit yet - Though this weekend there was a wait of 30-45 minutes to get a table . Happy as I was for Momoya I got a little worried that my sushi joint will be overrun with strollers and birthday parties any day now. Luckily if you go 1-4 times a week, the kind waitstaff will know your name and call you in a few minutes! Please go! I take all my friends and visitors and they are always, Always impressed and have a good time. The other new and underexposed sushi place i would choose is Zenkichi in Williamsburg Brooklyn. A little off the beaten path but close to Bedford Ave, but they are a little more daring than Momoya but less crafted in the atmosphere. The quality is equal at both places.

    Oh So Delicious.

I aboslutely loved both my experiences at Momoya. With the extra modern feel, the restaurant also provides extra modern sushi rolls. The Momoya Spicy Tuna with crunchy rice is yum yum. The rolls are far from boring and the quality is great.
