Authentic Japanese cuisine
One of the best authentic Japanese restaurants in NYC. Interesting, seasonal sushi and sashimi creations, including uni in its shell. don't miss the shumai -- tokyo style.

too much for too little
Food is pretty good. Prices are ridiculous. Can't believe the molten cake is now 8 bucks... Crazy!

awesome and creative
Awesome food, great sake and sushi. Creative menu options and totally was even fun for my daughters. Very accepting of kids and accommodated our childrens allergies. We live in LA and we alook forward to our next NCY visit and Momoya is a must!

Ripoff
My wife and I are always looking for new delivery places in UWS and decided to try this place due to favorable reviews. My opinion only reflects the food and not the atmosphere or service since we did not eat at the restaurant. Although the food itself was quite good, it was absolutely NOT worth what we paid. It should never cost $75 for a sashimi platter and a couple of rolls. The portions were meager at best and the "special rolls" were no different than the significantly cheaper regular rolls. The sashimi platter doesn't even come with soup our rice, which seems to be a standard everywhere else. If they're going to charge fine dining prices, they should offer a better experience.

What a disappointment
I don't normally blog but feel I need to this time. I go to Momoya almost weekly and it used to be great. Tonight it was disappointing. I ordered the sushi tasting menu for $40. The fish was dry, not fresh, and some of it was plain unappetizing. I told the waiter and nothing happened. I then spoke to the manager and he told me I was wrong and that his chef told him everything is good. No apology. He said he stands by his chef. I said he should stand by his customers. The most disappointing service and food I've had in a long time.
