Pretty Good
I finally got the chance to go to Momofuku. It was good but I was expecting better. The pork buns are good but are exactly like the one at the Fatty Crab on the upper west side. The BBQ sandwich were also good but also replicated at other restaurants that I have been to before. I'm not sure, but either Momofuku isn't that innovative or many restaurants have been copying. Anyways, if you haven't tried it....its worth a try. But, don't expect anything mind blowing.

David Chang fan, but feels like he sold out
Went to Momofuku last year and had a great experience, good food, good vibe, etc; but went there this friday night and felt these qualities are gone. The servers were good but they packed too many people along the counter. We literally had an inch of clearance btw our neighbors. Felt like the restaurant wanted to maximize the number of covers it does per evening at the expense of the diners experience. Sorry but will not be going back.

Great first experience
Stopped in for a bite before catching a movie and was seated right away (granted it was early but the place was already quite full in the back). I've never had such attentive water refills, and for a hot summer evening that was most appreciated. Tried the BBQ sandwich which was pretty much fantastic--the BBQ sauce/cole slaw combo makes for a delicious topping. Would definitely stop in again to try some other items on the menu.

food's good but small portions
Some dishes not too exceptional, some very good on the whole prepare to pay a lot. Had to grab a sandwich at Baoguette an hour after, we were still hungry! For $7 had the Sloppy Bao, very satisfying and delicious.

disappointed
i just went there this weekend. after trying to go for quite a while. first, our reservations for the bo ssam didn't come through. second, the "large plates" werent large at all. i could have better vietnamese style grilled pork or pho at any other restaurant besides here for a way lesser price. never have i been more disappointed in paying for a meal than here. not sure if i'll go back even for the bo ssam.

Best food in the world - no exaggeration
A seriously great restaurant - you might not like it if you don't like somewhat uncomfortable seating, loud music or sitting close to other diners. If you are OK with all that, have all five senses, like bold and unusual flavors, and don't mind a menu changing on a pretty regular basis, you will almost definitely like this restaurant. Try the buns, the pork sausage and rice cakes, the squid salad, the mushroom salad if they have it, the mussels, and anything from the raw bar, all absolutely pristine. Amazing. Great staff. Don't mind the haters.
