love this place! a friend had read good reviews but i was hesitant when i saw the outside. however, met her at the (very small) bar, was welcomed by a very friendly bartender who announced the maragarita flavors of the day. i tried ginger and proceeded to have 2 more throughout my meal! we waited about 15 min. for a table on a sat. night but we didn't mind b/c: a) the host was very polite and kept checking in with us to let us a know the status of our wait and b)we were enjoying the guac which was made by our bar side. for dinner, we ordered the grilled corn app, carne asada tacos (deliciously marinated, yummy rice/beans, only thing is they don't double up on the tortilla so it ripped quickly), beef burrito and maduros (very sweet, could be softer). so amazing! you get a LOT for your $. definitely a cute spot for a casual date or dinner w/ friends. forget the high prices of dos caminos and los dados - totally overated and way less flavor than mole!

I called on Tuesday to make reservations for Saturday for 8 people. They took my reservation and said it would be no problem at all. WRONG. We all arrived there on time and there was not one open table in the entire place! They told us it would only be a few minutes so we waited at the crammed bar (the restaurant and bar can maybe sit 25 people comfortably, so you can imagine what it was like for 8 people to stand around). 45 minutes later we were still not seated. If you can't seat 8 people on time, then don't take our reservations!!! We asked to be compensated with free drinks and free guacamole to which the bartender (apparently also the owner) very reluctantly agreed. We ended up sitting about an hour after our reservations only because they asked a couple in the middle of their meal to go to the bar. Our guacamole arrived after repeatedly asking for it. We were served by an obnoxious waiter who spoke to us in an extremely condescending tone and almost refused to prepare our food the way we wanted. Oh, and remember that free guacamole?? Not so much, they charged us for it and refused to make it complimentary!!! I'm not one to write reviews but you need to know what you're in for when you go to this place.

So, I like good food...and I was just in a quick rush on the LES, and a friend saw this little Mexican place..I thought "fine...we'll have nachos, quesadillas, etc"...Needless to say, I was stuneed. The food was great. Very creative and authentic-esque (ie not americanized), and just delicious. Lots of seafood, and tasting tender and fresh. The ceviche was superb, as were the scallop tacos. I expected the bill to be over $100 for two people...and I when the bill arrived (and yes, its cash only which we didnt know till we got the check)...it was $67 including a margartia.. amazing ...great deal, great food. I'll be back!

Note to reviewer below me: If you don't see "credit cards accepted" on the Menupages then they don't take credit cards! So thought it was funny someone actually looked it up here then went and was surprised it was cash only. Having said that - great food, we have a high-bar being from Texas... barbacoa was spot-on...reminded me of ordering it in taquerias on sundays. The owner, Nick, is so down to earth and welcoming... he's like a friend that you didn't know you had. From the first time it was like we were regulars. We have gone back many times, always have fantastic guacamole and margaritas... we live in Washington Heights and travel downtown for this spot.

great, pocket-sized restaurant. if you hate this place, you just like to hate. try it first on a slow night. if i recall, they're open every night for dinner & delivery. the scallop tacos were great the night of and the next two days as cold left-overs. a fellow industry peep and i have been slowly eating our way through the city. this is the first place we both said "wow". actually, i can't remember the last time either of us said that...

The food and service were decent - though quite disappointing after reading so many good reviews. At the end of the meal, they informed us (for the first time) that they do not accept credit cardsonly cash. The waiter then pointed to a line of TINY print on the front of the menu that was supposed to have let us know about this before we sat down without cash in our pockets. Already quite peeved, we asked where the nearest bank was and he replied that he didn't know (we looked one up and it was only two blocks away). He then slyly suggested an ATM at a bodega next door (they obviously have a "mutually beneficial" arrangement). They were not accommodating nor were they particularly friendly. In fact, they were borderline rude about the whole thing. The hassle of having to interrupt our meal to go get cash, however, was the straw that broke the camel's back. I will not be returning.

It's small, but worth it. The freshest Mexican and also fast delivery. I've had the enchiladas, FRESH guacamole, baja fish tacos. The servings are quite large. THe fish tacos could easily feed 4 normal girls or 2 girls who have not eaten in a while. I think it could also feed 2 men. Anyway, fast, friendly delivery. I've eaten in California and it reminds me of places there.
