Mole

Don't waste your time. Disappointing service and the food isn't much better.

Went for late dinner on a recent Saturday, and while the food was great, the service was atrocious. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes to order drinks, then another 15 before we flagged down a waiter to begrudgingly take our dinner order. Food took forever to come out, and our appetizers came out halfway through our meal. I would give them another chance, maybe at lunch on a weekday when it's slower.

Been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile and on Friday I walked in (was dining alone) and was requested to sit at the bar instead of a table for 2 persons because the place was so small. Then the waitress/manager said it was ok to sit at the table if I didn't take too long. I found this attitude to be very rude and I told her later. Also, I wanted some mole sauce as a side dish and I was told that it (sauce) only comes with certain dishes. Can you imagine that in a restaurant called "Mole" that they did not have any extra sauce to give me in a little side dish? The hard shell tacos with pork turned out to be tasty and the garnishes were interesting.. The classic margherita was to my liking--not acidic and only slightly sweet. I wound up sitting at the table for 2, and although the place was tiny, the place never filled up while I was there. In fact it emptied out quite a bit by the time I left (about 9:00 PM)

We were told 30 minutes for a table - more than an hour later, our party of 3 was told we could have a table for 2 or wait about another hour - it was evident that they did not want to "give up" any tables for 4 as they sat groups of 4 that arrived well after we did -- so we decided to eat at the bar -- at this point it was too late to go somewhere else -- I ordered a burrito -- it was cold and only had beans in it (I asked for other things, but apparently the chefs were too busy to put them in) -- I did not bother to ask the bartender because he was too busy -- it took over 10 minutes to get a glass of water! AFter paying $15 for a burrito I could have gotten at Taco Bell and being treated terrible, I would never go back here -- others in my party said their food was not what they thought it would be either -- just not a good place - with all the options in NYC, go somewhere else!

There was nothing nice to say about this place. It was overpriced with subpar food.

This review is for delivery only. I ordered from this place a few times last summer and the mole enchiladas were pretty good... tortillas were fresh, which was nice. ...but the last three times I tried ordering from them they put me on hold and never came back to the phone. Now it looks like they raised the prices quite a lot, way more than it is worth for delivery. I have never been to the restaurant, so maybe the atmosphere is just that fantastic?

I love their food and have been ordering and going there for a while! I love their tacos al pastor, rice and beans! Unfortunately, I don't know what has happened to their guacamole! I used to love their guacamole, and after many opportunities of thinking that it's not as good anymore, I have decided I won't order it from there anymore, it is more than disappointing!
