One of the best turkey burgers in nyc.

I love to come here on a Sunday night (on and off football season) to induldge in the turkey burger and fries. It is honestly one of the best I've had in the city... and on an english muffin! Other things havent been as good, but the "bar food" is really realllllly good bar food. AND they have trivia nights. win/win.

    Great except for the kids!

Go here all the time - great food, cold beer and I love the staff - from the waitstaff to the busboys to the bartenders. Very nice to talk to and good specials too! The only problem is when the Stuy Town mommies come in and let their kids run wild while they sit and do nothing. NOT acceptable! This makes for an unpleasant time for the rest of the place. Leave the kids at home! Or better yet - do your job and WATCH THEM!

    Subpar service

I rarely go out of my way to post reviews on the internet, but my experience at MJ Armstrong's last night was especially subpar. I live in the area and called to pick-up the food: 2 orders of wings and a burger -- not exactly rocket science. I called at 8:30pm and they said the food would be ready in 20min. When I arrived to pick up the food, no one had any idea who I should ask to pick it up. I was directed to the bartender, who happened to be the person I placed my order with over the phone. He only put in one order of wings (instead of 2). I figure, "OK, no big deal, they'll just put the order in and I'll wait a little longer..." An HOUR later -- at 9:30pm -- I finally got my food. I had asked for the burger medium-rare and it was cooked well-done. Again, normally I wouldn't think anything of it, but when I saw my ticket for the order with "WELL-DONE" written on it -- it was as if somebody actually went out of their way to get it wrong. It was a Wednesday night with barely anyone in the bar -- there is no excuse why such a simple order should take so long, and then be incorrect in the end.

    Decent place

Your typical sports bar, has a large beer list but could use more local selections. Always a sporting event on and a great place to catch a game. Food is ok, I like the sandwiches, including the burger with english muffins for a bun. Wings are subpar though and the place is a little bit expensive. Service is usually ok, the busboys work harder than the servers. Overall, will not replace your favorite local sports bar, but a good enough spot to stop in.

    Hockey Pucks

I'll start with the pros. Great onion soup. 50 cent wings on Fridays and $4 beer specials. We went for burgers. They were awful. Completely over cooked and had to be sent back. The second time around I had to add salt, pepper and hot sauce just to give the meat some flavor. The wait staff was painful but as usual the bus boys worked really hard and were helpful. I took 10 minutes for my beer to be delivered.

    Mediocre at best.

The food is average, but I do like the meatball sandwich. The bartenders are unfriendly and inattentive, and the waitstaff is very slow. I've been here a few times because I live around the corner, and I always leave unsatisfied and a little annoyed.

    Great food and price

Great food, nice people, service a bit on the slow side, cold beer. Who could ask for anything more? Best burgers in the city!!
