Best on the UWS
Best white tuna I've ever had. Freshest, cheapest sushi on the upper west side. Love this place.

Good Lunch Specials
You can not beat their lunch specials. Almost every Saturday and Sunday my wife and I order their roll specials, 2 for her, and three for me. They both come with soup or salads. Not bad for $15.10, and the quality of the rolls is a good as I have had anywhere (Tomoe, Nobu, etc.). Though the quality is pretty good as far as rolls go, sushi/sashimi can be hit or miss, yellow tail has never been very good. Also, for $15.10, don't expect great service.

One of the rudest experiences ever...
This is not the best place for sushi on the UWS- go one more block to Yuki, they are far superior. Or Roppongi or Haru are close too. Not to mention that the second time I ordered delivery, the delivery guy was too rude for words. When I tipped him $3- on a sunny warm evening and a $15 bill- he complained and acted like he wasn't going to leave the building. My husband had to come down to make sure he left. I won't be ordering here again.

worth 10 stars
Aside ffrom freebies and specials - the most important item for me in sushi is cleanliness and choicest fish. Both are spectacular here. If you have not had the tuna tartar (ask for it extra spicy) you have not lived. Also, if kampachi is on the menu taste it! If you are undecided about what to eat ask the waitress to let the sushi chef know you preferences and they might just create a plate of goodies just for you. : )

Excellent Sushi and Service
Miyako is a relatively new restaurant that provides superb quality sushi at fair prices. The waitstaff is incredibly attentive and it is not rare to receive free appetizers from the sushi chefs. Also, the menu is many pages long and offers an amazing variety of Japanese food, so your friends who don't eat fish or sushi will still be happy. Monday is all-you-can-eat sushi night for 18 bucks, a great deal!
