Poor quality
We ordered take out from this spot. The food was so unappetizing. Seaweed salad was clearly old /dry. The noodles were fried in some sort of low quality oil, garlic and onion power - the smell was over powering. The rolls were messy - with random fish eggs stuck to the outside where they did not belong. - we didnt order anything w/roe. even the side rice was disappointing - dry not fresh.

Unappetizing sushi
Some of the other food they serve is decent, but the sushi is just unappetizing, so much so that I can't eat it! And I am a sushi lover! It all has a smell/taste that is a fishy smell, not the good kind, like sewage in the ocean. Wish I would have gone somewhere else!

Excellent spot!
What a great place! We visited on a Friday night. Service was excellent, and sashimi was so fresh and had a great flavor. I recommend the salmon and white tuna sashimi. In addition, following a tip I read on another website, if you sit at the sushi bar the chef gives you treats on the house... We had an incredible grilled octopus appetizer with compliments from the chef;) all in all, great value, great food, and cold beer, too. We will definitely go back.

Salty food and attitude
The rolls were all super salty...for all 4 of us that ordered take out from a menu slipped under our door. Delivery took over 30 minutes when we are just 10 blocks away. When I called to see if our food was on the way I got nothing but attitude. When the delivery finally got there the guy had the nerve to complain about a $4 tip for a 40 minute delivery! Never calling the place again and threw out 2 menus so no one in the house will either.

Food was disappointing!
Recently moved to UWS and thought I'd try out Miyako. Got take out and it was very disappointing. The portions were very small. This would be ok if the food tasted good, but unfortunately it was the most disappointing Japanese food I've ever had. The Kani salad only tasted like mayonnaise. The tuna tartar was tasteless and the sauce to go with it didn't help at all. Scallions wrapped in beef tasted like thy used a very cheap, poor quality beef that was also overcooked. The fried udon was ok, nothing spectacular. All in all a huge waste of $50.

We Like
Good for takeout. Not bad for dine-in, but usually filled with obnoxious Upper West Siders and their bratty kids (you know what im talking about). And because it's a small place, it's hard to get away from these people. Service always good, and fast. My choice for Good Value Sushi!

100% Best Sushi on the UWS!
This little sushi joint has by far the best sushi on the UWS. I am a very picky sushi eater and have not come across many sushi restaurants that I am impressed with. The sushi here is fresh, delicious, and the rolls are a nice size. Whenever I want sushi on the UWS, I only go to Miyako!
