    My favorite table!

I visit NYC at least 3 times a year and and try to eat at Matili twice each visit. It is the best Indian food I have had in the US. As our favorite waiter has grown to know us he has surprised us with different appetizers or after dinner drinks to get us to try new things. I love the quiet politeness of all the staff. They now know my favorite table and when I walk in they take me straight to it. I will be in NYC next month and am looking forward to a nice, slow quiet meal at my favorite table.

    Good meal

Mitali was a good meal in my opinion. I like Indian food, but don't like spicy (hot) food. This was the first Indian place that didn't burn my m0uth! I guess most Indian food lovers would not be happy about this, but I was! I could actually taste the spices and enjoy the meal withouth downing too many mango lassays. Everyone agreed the food was good. Lovely intimiate atmosphere, and the place filled up even for a Monday night on a holiday.

    Food is disappointing

I ordered for the first time (tried many times before could not reach them). The food was not good at all - especially compared with some of the other restaurants in the area. Sorry, review is short, but to the point.

    food is so so

I just got take out, and I've had better Buryani in many other places. The food was just so so, and given all the other good places on Curry lane, I can't say I'll be ordering from here again.

    Great find!

The restaurant is very unassuming- truly what you call a hidden gem. The food was excellent. Nothing fancy- a good simple authentic atmosphere to it. And saving the best for last: the food was OUTstanding. Of course, I'll be back here with every family member/guy/girl friend of mine when I want to give them an enjoyable dinner surprise:-)

    Best on Curry Row

I have eaten at many, MANY of the restaurants on this street, and this kicks the others out of the water. I have come here on numerous occasions with my Indian boyfriend and his mother and they both agree it is authentic and delicious. It is a couple of bucks more than other ones on this street, but the couple of bucks is SO worth it. Unbelievably so. Come here!!

    When the lamb is sub-par . . .

We were disappointed, mostly because the lamb--certainly the staple of any Indian restaurant was tough and gamy. The other dishes were perfectly fine, but it was hard to get past this problem. It probably was just a bad batch, but given the wealth of Indian restaurants on this street, we probably won't come back.
