    AWFUL Service at Brunch

On 9/13, a friend and I arrived for brunch at 2.30 pm. We were seated and a guy brought us water and menus. Our waitress took our order and we didn't see her again for 25-30 minutes. She sat down at a table in the back to eat. Now this is fine but when she came back around and I asked her for a refill on the order, she went over to the order, spoke to him and then went back to her table to drink her beverage. I didn't get a refill for 10 minutes. At that point, we asked if coffee was supposed to come with the brunch. She replied, We can't be giving coffee out to everyone--you should have asked. Needless to say, she didn't get a tip. The food was good but her attitude was a huge turn-off. A nicer atmosphere can be found elsewhere with just as good a brunch, if not better.

    Outstanding Dinner

This place is absolutely wonderful. I have been there for brunch several times and never have a complaint, so I figured I would check it out for dinner as well. I must say I was not disappointed! We started off with a half price bottle of wine and a meze plate (4 for $9). What a great deal on both!!! I had the spanikopita and grape leaf and I would highly recommend both. My girlfriend had the hummus, and judging by how quickly it was gone, she didn't have any complaints either. For our main course I had a bronzino filet and my girlfriend had the hanger steak. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked. We were so stuffed that we had to skip dessert, but it all looked great will have to save room next time we are in. The service was extremely friendly. We were greated immediately by the bartender when we entered and ushered to our table. Our waitress was very light hearted and friendly, yet still extremely orginized and efficient. All our food came out in a timely fashion so we never felt rushed or impatient. Great overall experience. I will defenitely return for brunch, and now...especially dinner.

    Great brunch

The brunch deal is pretty excellent - $12 and all dishes come with home fries, greens, and coffee. Caution that it gets very crowded so plan on waiting. Also, the service can be flaky and slow, so don't go with someone who you can't make good conversation with! I highly recommend the goat cheese and spinach omelette.

    Nothing Special, Skimpy Ravioli

Went to Miriam's tonight after reading great reviews. Service was slow, not very attentive, and they forgot one of my appetizers. The quality of the food was generally good, but the Kreplach (Jewish ravioli) was a joke. My inlaws ordered the kreplach and there were LITERALLY 4 mini "ravioli" on a huge plate. I was prettty embarrassedit was such a puny dish (and it was $15). They were both still starving afterwards. I won't be back. Slim pickins in Brooklyn.

    Outstanding!

I've never written a review for anything before, but must so for Miriam. The first time we went was for a dinner with a self-confessed "food snob." He came to see our new apartment in Brooklyn, and nervously I picked a local restaurant to try. Everything turned out great at Miriam! The atmosphere is very nice and warm. Everything we had was just delicious. The fish was perfectly crusty and flaky, and every dish was so flavorful. Even my friend was so impressed that a month later when we were deciding where to dine he suggested we return. I've been several times for dinner now, and have always been as impressed as the first. Try dinner on Mondays, when the extensive wine selection is half off all bottles.

    Delicious!

I would file this restaurant under "MUST GO BACK". The food was so delicious and flavorful - and nice size portions. Our waitress answered all our questions and made some suggestions. The service wasn't slow the night we went. Try an Israeli wine for something different. Reservations suggested as its a small place that fills up pretty quick. Can't wait to go back.

    Heavenly Food

Israeli haute cuisine! Has the best elements of North African, Mediterranean, European and more. Beautiful presentation fresh ingredients and it's made from scratch so the wait is entirely understandable.
