This is not authenitic Indian food

Well, last night I try this place, Service was poor, and food is not real authentic indian food even though they try to give authentic names, I try one of Lamb dish they call it lamb Pasenda ( traditionally lamb pasenda is thin slice lamb marinated and cok in thick sauce, there version , I would say boild lamb cubes in cream sauce not even close to any thing which we call it Pasenda, They may fool american with these name but for Indian and Paakistani its not an authentic food, The other chicken dish was also very similar just cube of chicken in a sauce, None of the food were orignally indian authentic food, disapointing.

    Too bad

I have heard a lot about Mint, and the general reviews are mixed. Now I know why. While the atmosphere was nice, definitly modern and it mixed well with the feel, the service needs a whole new outlook. The staff was on borderline rude. The restaurant industry is a service industry and someone needs to tell the management of Mint that with average indian food you need to kick it up with your service. The food is ok, above the standards of places where you get 11.99 buffets, but not amongst the top five in NY.

Loved it loved it loved it

It was my mother's birthday - and she LOVES Indian food, so after reading several raves about this restaurant, I decided to give it a try. I reserved a table through OpenTable.com and mentioned in the special instructions that it was my mom's birthday. We were welcomed warmly when we got there, and the decor was pretty decent. From the moment we got there, the wait staff was perfect! They were attentive, but not overly so, they answered any and all questions we had and helpfully made suggestions. We didn't have to wait very long for our orders to arrive and when they did, they were meted out by the waitstaff onto our plates. The food? Perfection. I personally, never thought I liked Indian food, until last night. The lobster marsala was EXCELLENT. I don't like very spicy foods - but nothing was too hot, it was simply flavorful and delicious. The naan was the best I'd ever had and the cucumber raita was absolutely scrumptious. The general consensus at the table was that everything was delectable. As if all that weren't enough, at the conclusion of our meal, most unexpectedly - out comes a slice of birthday cake for my mother with warm wishes for a happy birthday!!! They had read the instructions from OpenTable.com and even discerned whose birthday it must have been, presumably by our conversation!!! All in all, it was a perfect evening and Mint was the ideal way to kick it off. My mother and I left the Broadway show craving another meal from Mint!!! You've got to go!!!

    Very good yaar

The Shrimp appetizer (essentially Goan Shrimp) is awesome but like super spicy. My bro couldnt handle it, so order it with caution. Try the Mint Naan since it is unique. Dont get their special cocktails, they are not good. Standard items that we like ... Chick Tik Masala, Chana, all are great. Had their lamb chops once, and that was very good not to mention their tandoori salmon. Up to you if you want to go more traditional Indo or more Tandoor BBQ style.

    Still the best.

Mint is by far my favorate restaurant ever. When i stepped in for the first time it certainly didnot look like an Indian restaurant. I was born and brought up in U.K which is why i love Indian food. This place has an excellent food and the decor compliments it very well. The service is extra ordinary as the chef him self is on the floor to help you order what you like. I definately recommend Mint to every one of you.

    Eh

I went there on a random wednesday at around 5:30 for a pre-theater dinner. The restaurant was near empty. There were around 10 waiters sitting there, everytime we needed something, a new one would come and forget to do what we asked. It took nearly 15 minutes to get a glass of water, and they got our order wrong twice. One of the waiters had terrible B.O. and the other waiters could care less that there were actual people waiting for their service. I am indian as well. The chicken tikka masala (a classic indian dish - if you can't make it, you shouldn't be in business) was poor and it tasted like they boiled chicken and covered it in yogurt and ketchup.
