We came here on a Sunday night after purchasing a gift certificate online for $25 and hearing good things about it. It was a disappointing experience. To begin, they gave us drinks menu only. When we said we didn't want any alcohol, just tea and water, I already felt the rudeness. I presented the gift certificate before ordering as instructed on the certificate, and the main waiter informed me icily not to give it to him until after, and if it qualifies, we could use it. I have to say the rest of the waiters were attentive but the attitude from the main waiter just made our meal uncomfortable. The meal was mediocre. The Chaat Poori for appetizer was pretty good. The Saffron Shrimp was small (it only came with 6 shrimp) and the sauce was very bland. The Mint Chicken (Tandoori) was tender, but again, not very flavourful. I like Indian food for its rich flavour and spices, but Mint just did not live up to this. Also the prices were pretty expensive and I didn't feel it was good value at all. But what really made me vow never to return was the rude service.

Mint by far is the best restaurant I have ever dined at. For me my dinner meal has to be admirable if it is at a fine dine. I was advised to make a reservation and I did. We had a party of 3 and arrived early. After having a few dinks we were seated in the dining section. The appetizers were amazing especially the Shesh Kababs. For Main course we had the famous Chicken Tika Masla a spinach dish and Goat. We had to wait for our food but that is a standard for any fine dine. Our server was excellent and suggested scrumptious items off the menu for which we tipped him well. I will definitely recommend mint to every one and they shall see me again.

So we went out for dinner last Saturday with a group of friends with no reservations. At first this place doesnt look like an indian restaurant. Since we didnt have any reservation, we had to wait an hour for a table, which we didnt mind... The mojitos are really good. The manager made sure we enjoyed while we waited as the place was packed. After we got seated (of course we ordered more mojitos) we ate like pigs. The food was awsome and the service was great. This place is an example of why New York is a great city. Good job Mint.....

Long story short, the food was okay & the service wasn't great. I had my birthday dinner there with 5 friends on a Friday night which we made reservations for. We felt very rushed the entire time, as the server made it clear that they were expecting a reservation after us which was only 1 hour after we received menus. I was not very pleased with this considering we had bottles of wine & a ton of food. Overall, the food was kind of sweet with not enough spice. Some dishes were better then others & I can't say we didn't finish our meals, but I've definitely eaten much better Indian food. It was a bummer because the decor is very cool & the location is great too. Oh well. Probably won't be back.

Selecting this restaurant for one of my closest friend's birthday was a mistake. The restaurant looks great from the inside and at first, the staff was very nice. We ordered wine and it took about 20 minutes for the menu to come out. The waiter came back to take our order but we were not ready. He replied back that basically in an hour, our party of 6 would have to leave because the next guests who made reservations will show up at that time. It was very rude and the food was not that great. We were extremely rushed and even after complaining to the manager in a very polite manner, our dining experience only got worse. The food is very sweet and heavy. Our chicken tomato curry was very dry and not a single dish tasted authentic. We've had much better Indian food and this is a place that we will not be returning to. Maybe a good place to go to hang out in the front where the bar is and enjoy the decor but that's about it.

Went to Mint for a friend's birthday, and it was great! First, the ambiance of the place is pretty hip/trendy for an Indian restaurant, and the drinks are fun too - try the Bollywoodtini! The food and service are both really really good... they have all the traditional Indian dishes but add their own "mint" touches here and there, it is yummy. The space is not huge, but they do a good job with decor...and accomodate groups well. And the best part - it's right in Midtown, so easy access for all! I highly recommend it.
