So yesterday I was in that neighborhood with a friend after seeing a play and wanted some Indian food. I read reviews on yelp first, and even with some mixed reviews I thought let me just see for myself. OMG bad idea that was. When we got there, we purchased our food and proceeded to go sit down. About 10 minutes into our meal, the guy that worked there told us they are closed. It was 5PM on a Saturday. Then he proceeded to close the lights. So we said we are still eating, so he opened the lights back on. In about 10 minutes, he came up to us and said sorry but we are closed and closed the lights again. He said you may move your selves to another table where the light were still on. We were sitting by the window, so the didn't want people to think that they were opened with light on. That's why they asked us to move. Fist of all that made no since at all, since he put a sign "closed" on the door. Also if the lady that served us food told us they were closing in 20 minutes we would not have even eaten there. I didn't want to get up and move to another table with all the food we had. So we just ate some more in the dark and left the rest. I mean how rude is that, unacceptable. They need to learn how to treat costumers. Oh and the food wasn't that great at all, eatable but not tasty at all.

The food is really good. It's opposite my office so I go quite often for lunch or pick something up on my way home. However, the portions are really small. They typically give you inadequate portions of meat or veggies, but dowse it in rice (would almost be better with smaller rice portions!) They are also quite impolite. Maybe because it's a long line at lunch - but even so, they could work on that.

This was the first time I have ever eaten at Minar. I read reviews on menu pages and I thought I would give it a try. I have had really great indian and some not so great but this was probably the worst Indian that I have ever had. I got home, ate a few bites, made my husband eat a few bites and threw it out. It was so salty to the point that I thought someone accidentaly must have dropped a container of salt into the food! I will not give it a second chance. shame!

The food is OK, but quite on the bland side. Most dishes taste and look the same. Some had burnt taste and I noticed burnt onions and vegetable in the dish. Also, they are EXTREMELY stingy with the portion size, especially when it comes to take out. You get tiny containers of the main dish, but a HUGE container filled with indian style rice. Not that good of a deal. You won't miss much if you pass on this restaurant.

Their menu is standard--with 1-2 special items every day of the week. I have found their food to be simple yet tasty. I go there at least once a week for lunch with colleagues. I usually take a late lunch (4pm)-- they serve you heapful servings and there is no line. Bonus: I have met interesting women there and they serve masala chai! Downside: - Lines are long during lunch (I mean routinely 25+ people in line - Sometime I have had specials run-out by the time my turn arrives - Difficult to find a seat; even if you do it is crowded

A good spot to go for a lunch under 10 bucks. Cafateria style set up. Food portions are acceptable and prices are decent. I have not tried ordering anything off of their menu yet. I did not eat Indian food until my friends got me to try this place. Now, I eat there at least once a week.
