    I miss Mimi's

It's been awhile since I've lived in New York (I now live in Chicago), but I am telling you, I think about Mimi's pizza all the time! It doesn't help matters that I prefer NY style pizza over Chicago style anyday! Chicago style pizza is bland and never cooked all the way through. You can't get good pizza here, you certainly can't get anything close to Mimi's! So eat up NYC! And next time you get to enjoy some Mimi's pizza, think of poor little me here in the Windy City.

    The Best!

Without a doubt, the best pizza I've ever had. We live outside the delivery area and there are countless pizzerias in between, but it's worth going to pick it up. We've tried all the others...no comparison.

Pizza so good, you'll dream about it

My husband and I began eating at Mimi's (on the sit-down restaurant side) about 4 years ago...and we have been hooked ever since. Although we've heard (and seen) that they have great pasta and delicious specials, we've never ordered anything but pizza. Our favorites are: a whole, plain pie (just tasty tomato sauce, lots of cheese, and that golden crust) and our newest discovery, the Classic Margherita Pie made with tomato sauce, FRESH mozzarella , and basil (like at Grimaldi's and Lombardi's). Lately, we have been eating that Margherita pie at Mimi's once a week because it is THAT good. We don't even want to order it delivery--somehow it just tastes best right there in the restaurant. Sure, we are fans of Grimaldi's, Lombardi's, Nick's, Patsy's of East Harlem (and all the other coal or brick oven joints), but I have to say that Mimi's sauce and crust are the best--despite the fact that they are using a (gasp!) conventional oven. Mimi's is said to have been a favorite of Paul and Linda Mc Cartney back in the day--and it is rumored that he had a pizza sent to him in England via airplane when he just had to have it. Yep, it really is that good.

    Risky

Having lived in the neighborhood for more than 20 years, Mimi's was always my favorite and only place to grab a slice or order a pizza to my home. Unfortunately, it has gone down hill over the years since the parents died, and and has since been very inconsistent. Recently, one pizza was burned, the other had almost no sauce and it is in general a gamble to order from there.

    Can't deny Mimi's

Mimis is simply one of the best pizzas in NYC. Great crust and amazing sauce put it in the best category. Really nice guys behind the counter too. I've moved downtown from the UES but anytime I make it up there, I always grab a slice at Mimis.

    One of the best

Shares the best slice title with John's in the village. Good pasta as well.
