If I could hear myself think
I just laughed out loud when I read the owner thinks this is place for romantic dinner. The music that comes up from the bar downstairs is an assault to one's ears. It was only when we threatened to leave that it was turned down to level that was bearable. Sorry you are charging too much for the dining experience to be ruined by music that frankly doesn't fit your vibe, will be long time if ever before I return, and food was good.

What Was the Person Who Asked "What Was Sam Sifton Thinking" Thinking?
Anyone with a tongue in their mouth who still have their sense of taste would agree that the food at Millesime is flawless. Chef Laurent is a master. Everything I invited into my mouth I hoped would stay a little longer. The lobster, the pike quenelles, the fresh shrimp and oysters, the tuna tartare (the best I've ever had)...EVERYTHING was almost flawless. The scallop and lobster sausage? Are you kidding me? Please mass produce that so I can buy it at Stop n Shop and afford to eat it regularly. Please.

What was Sam Sifton thinking?
This review is for the restaurant Millesime, not the salon.I have just returned from such a disappointing meal that I don't know where to begin. For starters, we had made reservations, for 6:30, it was a Monday night, no one was in the restaurant, but we were told we could only sit in the middle aisle. I repeat, every table was empty. After a great deal of fanfair (and the hostess was genuinely trying to be gracious), a surly waitress came up and said the only place we could sit was in the middle. Period. At that point, as we were leaving, the host effusively said we could sit wherever we wanted. Unfortunately, we stayed.Food was mediocre. Tuna ("a Planta") was steamed and tasteless. The potatoes were standard bar mozzarella sticks. The Plateau Normale was boring. The martinis were fine, but not enough to merit the unispired food and pretentious attempts at classy service. Despite the reviews, this restaurant is sorely lacking -- we so regretted not going to our standard first-rate fish restaurant, Aquagrill, which has it all over this newcomer, in service and food.

Delicious
Had amazing, fresh oysters; the best hamachi tartare I've had ever; tender calamar carbone; berbere moules that were super tasty and delicious; tasty snapper with ridiculous mashed potatoes; awesome pot de cremes.
