    Poorest customer service

I've ordered from Mike's numerous times. I placed an order for delivery at 8:15pm on a Saturday night. I was told it would take a half hour to get my one large cheese pizza. After an hour and a half I called to check the status of the pizza. I was told it should arrive any moment. At the two and a half hour mark I called again and was put on the phone with the manager who begin to angrily tell me that I had given him the wrong address. He tried calling the phone number and said it was disconnected. When I explained to him that it was impossible - since I was currently calling from that phone. I told him that I had called earlier to check the status of my delivery and he told me the girl thought I was calling about another order. He claimed that our doorman had no idea who we were and that they were given false information. I explained that I didn't give them the wrong information, they had copied it down incorrectly - we're in their computer and have never had an issue before. They had already charged me for the delivery - which I hadn't received. The manager started berating me on the phone telling me he was too busy to deal with my issue - did I want the pizza or not? I said I had already made my kids wait three hours, was I going to have to wait another half hour? He said yes. I told him if that was the case, I didn't want to pay. He said fine, since I already got a pizza for free. When I told him we never received that pizza, hence my phone call, he became irate and yelled that he already charged me for the missing pizza. The pizza was at my door in ten minutes. I will never deal with this rude restaurant ever again. If you can't respect your repeat customers, you don't deserve my money.

    Not bad

This place is not as bad as the other reviews make it sound. The pizza is good and the French fries are are AMAZING. It is also kosher. Cons: a little pricey; not open on Saturdays and closed early on Fridays.

    Frozen Fish used and served

The atmosphere is loud and the chairs make a terrible noise on the floor. All that could be forgiven, except the food is not that good. Mike took a big step down from the bistro on 72nd. The Fish and Chips that was served to me was still frozen. They had breaded and fried a piece of frozen fish and thought it would be cooked-it wasn't is was frozen solid.

    Love this pizza!

This is an offshoot of the pricey kosher restaurant Mike's Bistro, and I've got to say, it totally measures up. My favorite item so far is the Bianca Pizza, a delicious dish with mozzarella, ricotta cheese, and roasted garlic. Also, the pizza crust is ridiculously yummy. It's a very small venue with only 8 or 10 tables (enough seating for maybe 25-30 people max) and you order at the counter, but then they bring the food to your table. That said, the atmosphere is probably the low point of the restaurant. The main cashier/server person I've seen there can seem a little gruff, but she's actually really sweet if you give her the benefit of the doubt.

    So-So

I read the previous reviews in making my decision about dining at this restaurant. And though I wasn't necessarily misled, I had an entirely different picture in my head. This was basically a glorified fast-food establishment. Yes, the decor was nicer and it didn't smell of fried foods but you placed your order at the counter and took a number to your seat. We ordered the fried zucchini (from other review recommendations), the antipasto of the day, and the penne with vodka sauce. The zucchini was fine--literally just fine. Definitely could have used more flavor, salt maybe? The marinara sauce was served cold; something many people appreciate, I suppose. The antipasto was mozzarella chunks (definitely was not buffalo) slathered in pesto served with rock hard crouton sticks. It made the eating experience a little difficult, to say the least. The penne with vodka sauce was good. It only took one bite to realize vodka sauce here equals alfredo plus marinara. But once we accepted what it really was, it tasted just fine. The waitstaff/management were very cordial and the food was served in a timely manner. With all the choices in the UWS I don't think I'd return, though.

    Not so great

The food was OK at best. I had the pizza, and as far as pizza goes, this one did not top my list at all. The service was terrible, it was overcrowded and after 15 minutes of sitting, we were told to leave to make room. The hostess was really mean and nasty and the cashier was quick and annoying. The atmosphere itself was terrible, we could hear people yelling in the kitchen at each other. It was not so great of an experience, we will not return.
