    Overpriced

Food is excellent, but that is about the only positive thing I can say about this place. 1) Service is disorganized (wine order requested by waiter before food menus were served). 2) The place was nearly empty on a Friday night, which is always a negative sign in New York City. 3) Pollen and other organic matter was repeatedly falling on our table and plates from a giant flower arrangement placed right next to us. 4) The food menu looks physically cheap (paperback) compared to what it advertises ($36 main courses). Same quality applies to the paper folder in which they present the final check. 5) Prices for food and drinks are outrageous considering the whole depressing experience. There are many excellent restaurants in the city where you can get way more value for that kind of money.

    Highly recommend

I disagree with the negative posts-- Michael's is very upscale and the prices are reasonable for the food, quality, and service (not to mention this is NYC). I usually get the scallops and cannot even begin to describe how fantastic the dish is. Although only a handful of scallops are in the dish, they are enormous and I am left feeling full afterwards. The atmosphere is very upscale and business-- almost all men are dressed in suits. It's a great restaurant to go to to avoid tourists and have a sophisticated meal and dining experience.

    wont go back

If I didnt eat there for the restaurant special price dinner I would have been really aggravated. It was ok but nothing to write home about. Really overpriced and very very mediocre.

    Good Eats

I have been to (Michael's New York) 4 times, and to its sister (Michael's Santa Monica) twice. As before a wonderful experience. Careful but relaxed service and spectacular food. Definitely the number one choice in my list.

    Great

Micheals is such a unique experience.. It is different at every meal time and you can find some of the most powerful people in new york there at any time. Lunch is an amazing thing to see.. for such an unassuming front facade you are treated to a high level of attentiveness by the staff as well as great customer appreciation.

Save time and Money... Avoid Michael$

There is nothing spectacular about their breakfast menu. Eggs, bacon, fruit cup, the usual. Service is slow, but the place is always packed. I kept waiting for the moment where I could finally say "This is why everyone is here." and it never came. A big moment did arrive, however, when the check came. It cost almost half a day's pay for breakfast. Come on, if you want to serve $18 scrambled eggs, you simply have to have top level service!! Even The Donald doesn't waste time (and money) here anymore.

    Very Expensive!

A nice place for a $34 hamburger and a $38 salad. Fries are served with the burger and you get a hard roll with the salad. Coffee was $6 per cup but refills were included. All in all I would rather buy a nice shirt and grab a hotdog from a street vendor for the nearly $100 lunch two of us had.
