The best Mexican in Hell's Kitchen
I order food to go from here at least once a week. The portions are always more than enough for my manly appetite and delivery is fast and acurate. I Highly recommend this restaurant. The fried ice cream with raspberry sauce is a treat for my sweet tooth at the end of the meal. I've tried several restaurants in this neighborhood and the quality does not compare.

Great Lunch Specials and vegetarian menu
IWow, I'm surprised about the previous review because I too work nearby and have had great experiences here. I'm vegan and this place has a whole seperate vegetarian and health menu which I find has many options for me. This place makes practically everything from scratch and they have a great lunch special . M-F 12pm-3pm if you sit at the bar for $7.95 you get: your choice of burrito, taco, chimichanga, enchilada, etc. with a side of rice, beans, and salad, A cup of homemade black bean soup, chips and salsa, and a fountain drink. It's great. Smaller luncheon portions make it totally filling but not too much. I love the spinach enchilada (I get it w/out the cheese) but it's so flavorful you don't need it. They also have happy hour specials, $3.00 mexican and domestic beers.

Not recommended
After having been recommended to me by a friend, I decided to give Mi Nidito a try. I actually work right around the corner, and am a Mexican food connoisseur, so I really wanted this place to be good. I was disappointed. Not only did it take 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order, apparently she was busy, but would an "I'll be right with you" have been to much to ask? My friends and I figured out that what they say is a 16 oz Margarita ($10) is actually more like an 8 oz, so don't be lured by the sign out front that states "home of the original 60 oz margarita ($45). My nachos, which claimed to be covered in beans, guacamole, shredded chicken, sour cream, etc. came as a plate of melted cheese with a few chips thrown in and a couple cubes of chicken. What happened to "New York's freshest Mexican fare", It says that on the sign too.

Can't wait to go back!
Last year my family and I stumbled upon this quaint mexican restaurant and loving mexican food as we do decided tro give it a try. Our expectations were not that high since it seems to be difficult to find a truly good mexican restaurant that serves something other than processed food. Boy, were we wrong. The food was OUTSTANDING! It was so good that my husband and I came back to New York this year to eat here. Food, drinks(especially the margaritas), service, everything is great. Definitely a must for anyone who likes mexican!

Super margaritas and guacamole!
I was introduced to this place a few months ago and it is definitely some of the best mexican food I have ever eaten. It's small (almost "blink and you'll miss it") and casual, very relaxed atmosphere and the staff and owner are really friendly. The margaritas are huge and the guacamole is great! All the food seems really fresh, the portions are generous and the menu has lots to choose from. I've been back a few times and so far I haven't been disappointed. It's a perfect little "off the beaten path" New York find!

Great margaritas - ok eats
Went here with a girlfriend the other night not expecting much (as mexican in this city is pretty bunk - at least the places I've been going to) but hoping it might compare to the quality of the owners knosh at Bombay Eats. So perhaps I was expecting a lot! The margaritas were fantastic and STRONG! We started with the nachos with beef and could have stopped there. Very yummy. We both opted for seafood mains and I think that is where we went wrong. I had the king crab enchiladas and they did not taste like real crab to me. She had the mixed seafood grill which also was just ok. Very disappointing. We were stuffed so couldn't try dessert. I might give it another (non-seafood) and would recommend that newbies stay away from the crab. Salsa was great though!

Inconsistent
I've been going here occasionally for the past couple years. There was a point about 6 months ago when they started to squeeze fresh limes resulting in some fantastic margaritas! But for some reason they switched back to using just sour mix and their margaritas suffered. The food is always excellent and fresh here.
