    Really Good!

Our party of five, without reservations originally planned to go to a different Mexican place that was booked solid. It worked out great because we wandered into Mexicana Mama and it was great! The service is friendly, attentive and fun. The food was really great. They had a special fish dish that night cooked in a spicy coconut milk sauce on top of a corn flan served with smoky butternut squash. I ate every bite and so did my friend who squealed a little at her first bite. My bf got the pork tacos which were equally delicious. My friends got the mole burritos which they gobbled up quickly and raved about.

    Always delicious

This place is amazing and I have been eating here for years. For delivery, the food always arrives promptly and it is consistently delicious. Don't forget to order the special salsa with chips!

    Holy guacamole

We asked for a specific table and were taken to a totally different one in the back corner. Not to mention there was barely enough room to even walk down the narrow isle so don't expect the mariachi band to come play for you. Right away we were asked if we would like some guacamole, not knowing it would cost a whopping $11 for a small "rock" filled hole. Our waiter did not understand any of our questions and was lucky he knew what they served on the menu. It was clear that they must change the menu prices because he was so lost as to what cost what. He greeted out table about 2 times, to take our order and to give us the check. The margaritas were highly over priced and tasted like a regular smoothie. The food was pretty tasty, but way over priced for what you get....$18 for a burrito, I think you could throw in some rice or beans with it. The rudest part of all, is when your just about finished eating, a bus girl comes around and asks to change the table cloth in preparation for the next guests. Overall it was not what we expected.

    Really!?

When I pay $16 for tacos and even leave a dollar tip for the server who just hands me the to-go bag he has the audacity to ask me to pay an additional 75 cents for salsa? No wonder this place is always devoid of customers. Every other time I have been there the salsa was complimentary.

    Not recommended

The place is over priced. The food comes cold to the table. It is not a worth it!

    Excellent, creative food!

Food is excellent! This is not your typical Mexican - so don't expect it. Don't go looking for rice & beans in your burrito. This is better. They've created great chicken burritos with sweet potatoes and big chunks of chicken. Great spices. Amazing and interesting chile relleno. Not typical. Much, much better. And I think their margaritas are plenty strong. Very small space and they do like to move the folks through - so it's not a place to sit & talk for hours.

Yo No Se...No Ole for this Mamma.

How dare Planner 19 write below - how dare! - "ignore previous reviews." I completely disagree with her. Burritos do not make the grade, honey. I wore my long string fake pearls, Annie Hall hat and scrunchy suede boots on a cold day recently and tucked into a burrito. I was nearly aghast at finding potatoes - but the flavor was OK. But sorry, should we not want rice? Sweety, Tortilla Flats makes more satisfying Burritos. AND: I demand stronger drinks. I ordered a Margarita, not lemonade! Touche Ole.
