Great to Have Around
I usually leave this place annoyed at the seating/service when I eat in, but the food is great and it's a worthy entry among our other Mexican places in the area. Despite the comments on the burritos here, after going a while without one I find myself hungering after it. The special salsa, which seems to invariably be chipotle cream, is pretty good also.

Disappointing
The food was overpriced. The burritos were basically stuffed with lumps of sweet potato and cheese. Unless you are seeking to gain 100 pounds in carbs and lipids in one night, I say avoid this place. I went to this restaurant because I had read reviews about how good it was. I cannot begin to understand how the people writing these rave reviews feel this way.

Very Disappointing
Maybe it was just a bad night. Staples such as salsa and margaritas were not even close to acceptable. Queso Flameado ($19) was inedible. The waitress kept apologizing and had a nice attitude at least. I'm not sure how a place with such good reviews could turn out dishes that subpar. Probably best to avoid this place.

Great Mexican in the city!
Ate at Mexicana Mama last week- it was great! Drinks were nice, food was really tasty & fresh. I plan to bring my friends back to this place!

Great neighborhood Mexican
It's often crowded and the tables are probably too close together, but a great local spot for Mexican food. Specials are almost always great - fish ones particularly - the mole is a cut above, the corn is amazing, and chile relleno is fantastic. I've never had a bad meal here, although it is definitely at a higher price point than some other Mexican restaurants.

HAPPY CAMPER
I just moved into the neighborhood and my doorman suggested this place.We were thrilled.The enchilada suiza and the salsas were great.Service was friendly and not too pushy. I'm stoked they deliver.
