Fun but very noisy!
We went there for a group dinner. The squash and bean soup was a delight. perfectly presented, outstanding mix of sweetness and spice! We loved that! But from there on, the experience was average. The margaritas are pretty good, but nothing unique that stands out from other comparable Mexican places. The entrees (a cheesy chicken gook for me), was passable. The burritos that some on the table ordered were gooey, but a little too much. The service was fine, but again, average. A few times, we really had to flag down our server and ask for regular things like water etc.. The one issue we had was that the place is noisy. it was SO noisy, that our group of about 8 had to break into factions of 4 pairs each just so that we could talk. No one could hear anyone. And to have anyone hear you, you had to scream as though you were in a club or whisper into your friend's ear. Overall, fun for a good drink and the soup! But probably avoid if you want to hang out with a large group that you want to chat with.

Wonderful Food and Service
I had an awesome experience at Mexican Radio! Our server was super nice and attentive, and the food was delicious! The menu is overwhelmingly large at first, but the waitress suggested the Cajun Burrito (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) and it was excellent! I had some friends visiting from out of town and it was a great spot to bring them. Lively, fun, friendly staff, yummy food and strong drinks. Yes, please!

Viva Mexican Radio!
On the way here we read countless reviews of how bland the food was, how long it took, and how poorly the staff waited on tables. The food was delicious, timely, and far from bland. Forget the other reviews saying the service in nonexistent and the food is blah. Must try if you love Mexican

Best Mexican food in NYC, by far!
Flautas, tacos suave, magaritas, chips w/ salsa...incredible! Favorite Mexican place by far!

Mediocre
I am really confused how this place came up with their prices. The cost of the food is no where worth the food, drinks and service you receive in return. Tons of better places in the cith you can go instead.

Overpriced and over-done
We got 3 items and the bill was seventy five dollars. No that wasnt a typo--$75. They dont even use real meat. Its that shredded stuff thats been sitting in a pot all day cooking so its just right. And by just right I mean its waaaaay over done. These guys must have freaked out when la esquina opened across the street because its actually a good restaurant and about 1/3 of the price. Ha this place is a joke.

Not recommended
Some friends and I came to the neighborhood to enjoy some tacos from the always fun La Esquina, which was closed. (first time ever!). So craving mexican, we decided to give Mexican Radio a try. The place wasn't even half full, many of the other tables were already eating, and it still took 45 minutes for our food to come out. This might have been tolerable if the waiter had been gracious... we were all STARVING, and he didn't say a word. No explanation, no apologies, and no chips or ... water? Could he even fill up the water? The food finally came- two of the dishes were luke-warm, the plates of rice and beans were clearly plated first thing in the morning ( to allow them to be faster with the entrees?) and were dry, filmy and unappetizing. The service was comparably uninspired. Do yourself a favor: if you can't get tacos from La Esquina, don't go to Mexican Radio.
