At least the service was good

We had a very disappointing meal here. Restaurant was out of escargot which I think was a blessing in disguise. We had the Steak Frites and Mussels Provencal. The steak was overcooked and of low quality. The mussels were lukewarm, very slimy and fishy, and extremely unappetizing. We will not be dining at this restaurant again. We thought we had found something great until our food arrived. The only solace was the excellent service.

    Such a shame

Metro had amazing food at reasonable prices. Recently they changed the menu, lowered the prices and severely decreased the quality. The potatoes were great, now they are AWFUL. I guess the economy caused this but its really a shame bc now its diner quality at diner prices. Someone should tell them we already have 5 diners in this area...

    Mediocre food and service

Ordered cinnamon raison French toast, bacon, and a latte. Apparently (from what I read) in Italy a latte is flat, with no foam. I guess that would make this an Italian latte. The fact that it was, as best, lukewarm makes it mediocre in any language. Eventually a guy from the kitchen arrived with the bacon and something that definitely wasn't French toast. After a great while, the French toast arrived, by which time the bacon, which he had left, was cold, if otherwise decent (a little fattier than my wife would prefer, but really not bad). The French toast was perfectly adequate. Nothing special, nothing any good diner couldn't manage, but hey, we're talking right in Port Authority, OK? I feel the same way about the decore. It's tarted up to look like a bistro and some people complain that it's totally bogus, but hey, look where we are and be happy for small favors, like that it doesn't totally suck and that it isn't an outright eyesore.

Breakfast a real value-Best potatoes in

We visited NYC for the first time in August 2008. We walked into Metro Marche by accident for breakfast the first day we were in town. Best breakfast potatoes, great eggs. We went back 2 more times during our 5 day visit. For lunch I ordered the Tuna steak sandwich. It was terrific. My two teenagers loved the food too. It was their idea to come back again and again. I have no problem recommending breakfast and lunch to my out-of-town friends.

    Happily Surprised

We came upon this place by surprise and it was excellant! The staff was very pleasant. The food was great! It was right down the block from the theater. Could not have asked for better! Will definitely return and highly reccommend to others!

    definitely not worth the price

The food is average at best. The food presentation is average and the taste is what you would expect from a decent diner. The atmosphere is not impressive, you enter through a deli and then walk to the back to restaurant which is decorated in tired bistro style. The wait staff was friendly but not highly professional. Just another example of why you should not eat anywhere within a mile of times square. If the price was half what it is, I might [drop] in if I was walking by and didn't no where else to eat.

    Fantastic food and tasty

Eat Here to avoid chain restaurants where your meals will cost 30 each entree while this French Cuisine was amazing. Definitely try the mussels and Steak. Yumm - o.
