Just love it
I'm from Germany and I was in this Diner just because my hostel was near by. And it was the best decision. The food was so good, but way to much for a German stomach. I'm looking forward to eat there again!

My Favourite!
this reastaurant was the best one me and my classmates went to when we went to New York this spring! the food was great (the milkshake tasted heavenly!), and the service from the guys who worked there were fantastic! A big thanks to Reyes( Ray..?) who gave us the best time ever!

One of my faves
I have been coming to Metro's for the last 8 years and it's my favorite diner. The service is always good and the food consistent! Love their coffee!

Eh
I used to really like this place. The waiters are still extremely fast and friendly and I love me a good diner, but lately everything here -- from a cobb salad to a club sandwich to a tuna melt -- all tastes the same. (It's a phenomenon I've noticed before at The Cheesecake Factory, where I just assume everything is fried in the same grease.) Also, the prices have gotten way too steep for what it is. The place is always crowded, so maybe it's just me, but really -- eh.

My favorite Diner
I grew up in Westchester and have been going to diners since I was a wee lass, and it's safe to say that I have a good idea as to what a good diner is and should be! I love the Metro diner. The service is on the mark and if it isn't the delicious food makes up for it. I recommend coming for Brunch and having one of their delicious frittatas (I like the one w/the goat cheese), or their Metro Burger! Don't listen to the neigh-sayers!

Contempt for customer
Increasingly, I am finding wait staff regard for customer ranges somewhere between must tolerate to open contempt. The latter was my experience here. First, the waiter came before I even had time to view one page of the menu. When I said I wasn't ready, I got the must tolerate this annoying customer look. Then I was punished. He didn't come back long past the time one needs to decide to order. I ordered the crab cakes. They were too long in coming so it was not surprising that they were charred on oneside. To their credit they didn't try to hide this. They served it char-side up on two sparse pieces of limp lettuce. I then got to watch my waiter through the side door smoke a cigarette to the stub with his mouth resting on his thumb and index finger come in and continue serving without washing his hands. I am ready to give up on eating out period. The so called good restaurants are pretentious and the others just aren't a pleasant experience. I cannot be unpleasant in the process of earning my dollar I spend there and am tired of the increasing number of servers who think I deserve no return from my earning efforts when I spend.

A Filene's basement of food
You can definitely be happy with certain things you order here. It's just like going through Filene's Basement to find some nice clothes- it's possible. I recommend some hidden deals here are BLT sandwiches and Turkey burger. Chicken Souvlaki is also good for the portion and price. In general, I must say that the price has gone up a lot more than before especially breakfast special (doesn't seem to be that special anymore). Also one other advice is trying to go there when it's not too crowded, then you'll get a better service.
