Great Tapas!
We've been to Meson Sevilla several times - sometimes on a theater trip and sometimes just to visit with friends. The tapas/small plates here are great. We've tried several chicken and shrimp dishes and loved them as well as others. They are great for sharing around a table and the flavors are excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can forget you're in a busy city. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Disappointed
Had a reservation, was going to a broadway show, took awhile with our food. The shrimp in green sauce came out as if it were an appetizer regarding serving size. The service was indifferent, mediocrity at its best, and the room was very noisy. Will never go back.

Not recommended
Even with a reservation, they gave us difficulty about seating us. The shrimp in green sauce came with frozen vegetables. The shrimp were small and almost inedible. The service was indifferent, at best, and the room was very noisy.

Best shrimp plancha
I have eaten there quite a few times and always order shrimp plancha because it is perfectly grilled and the vegetables are also perfectly done. Others I have gone with order other things and they are also pleased with their meals.

Don't go!
We went there today to celebrate my aunt's 83rd birthday and the food was quite awful. I ordered chicken that was poorly seasoned and nondescript, my brother-in-law ordered a variety of tapas that for the most part were barely edible and remained on the plates they were served on, the vegetables were oily and tastless and the rice was also devoid of taste. The best part of the experience was eating the cakes that we brought and leaving. I am at a complete loss as to how this restaurant would rate 4 stars. It is nothing but a tourist trap for the palate challenged.

Too garlicky; long wait for table
I made a phone reservation for 4 for 6pm. When we arrived we were told that our name was not in the system but that they would get a table ready for us. A group of 4 without a reservation arrived after us whom the maitre'd knew and they were seated in about 5 minutes. After a 30 min. wait, we were seated but we had to rush because of an 8pm show. The waiter was courteous and brought our food promptly, but the food had the smell and taste of garlic everywhere. The Shrimp Plancha, Veal Plancha, and Pinchos Turinos were very garlicky but the Spanish sausage was not. Due to the long wait and the large amount of garlic in the food, I would not revisit this restaurant.

Meson Sevilla is very authentic!
i have eaten in barcelona and madrid many many times. my wife is from barcelona, and we have eaten in most of the best tapas bars there. meson sevilla has a warm ambiance, the service was wonderful, they have a great selection of spanish wines, and have very authentic tapas and spanish dishes. the prices are in line for new york and what you get. 2 of us had a nice bottle of wine and lots of different foods, and it cost about $90. a very nice find and i highly recommend it.
