Don't go!
We went there today to celebrate my aunt's 83rd birthday and the food was quite awful. I ordered chicken that was poorly seasoned and nondescript, my brother-in-law ordered a variety of tapas that for the most part were barely edible and remained on the plates they were served on, the vegetables were oily and tastless and the rice was also devoid of taste. The best part of the experience was eating the cakes that we brought and leaving. I am at a complete loss as to how this restaurant would rate 4 stars. It is nothing but a tourist trap for the palate challenged.

Too garlicky; long wait for table
I made a phone reservation for 4 for 6pm. When we arrived we were told that our name was not in the system but that they would get a table ready for us. A group of 4 without a reservation arrived after us whom the maitre'd knew and they were seated in about 5 minutes. After a 30 min. wait, we were seated but we had to rush because of an 8pm show. The waiter was courteous and brought our food promptly, but the food had the smell and taste of garlic everywhere. The Shrimp Plancha, Veal Plancha, and Pinchos Turinos were very garlicky but the Spanish sausage was not. Due to the long wait and the large amount of garlic in the food, I would not revisit this restaurant.

Meson Sevilla is very authentic!
i have eaten in barcelona and madrid many many times. my wife is from barcelona, and we have eaten in most of the best tapas bars there. meson sevilla has a warm ambiance, the service was wonderful, they have a great selection of spanish wines, and have very authentic tapas and spanish dishes. the prices are in line for new york and what you get. 2 of us had a nice bottle of wine and lots of different foods, and it cost about $90. a very nice find and i highly recommend it.

An Oasis of Calm
On a street filled with so many crowded and noisy restaurants and so many tourists, Meson Sevilla is an oasis of calm. Down a flight of stairs and set back from the hustle and bustle of 46th Street, you enter a long bar room. To the left is the dining room. Only two, we were seated at a comfortable table for four. We had the red sangria, filled with fruit and with a nice brandy kick. We shared the Pulpo A La Gallega, a grilled octopus with potato, served piping hot and simply splendid. My husband had the Paella Valenciana and I had the Chicken and Rice. The entrees were authentic, moist, and delicious. For dessert, we shared the Nohila (?), a flan with cinnamon and coffee liquer. It was heavenly with a slight perfume from the liqeur. I asked our waiter, who couldn't have been nicer or more attentive (and had opinions, which we always welcome) about the dessert. He explained what it was and how they made it. Because I had complimented it, our waiter comped us to the dessert, a very nice gesture. We will definitely be back.

Authentic and delicious tapas
I went to Meson Sevilla with a friend and we both really enjoyed it! I've been to Spain to stay with friends who live there a few times and feel that the food here reminds me of my experiences in Madrid. We tried several tapas and they were all delicious and the staff were helpful and friendly and provided wonderful service. I look forward to returning soon.

Biggest Tapas potions in NYC
This has got to be my favorite Tapas/ Spanish restaurants in NYC. No one in New York has Tapas as big as they do and the prices are fantastic. Most tapas restaurants make you leave hungry, but not Meson Sevilla. I also love the old world charm of the place rustic, old, cozy and warm, some thing you do not see in todays modern restaurants. Try this place order 2-3 tapas you will leave full and not break the bank.

Love the Tapas
Patatas Bravas to die for. Delicious serrano ham. Their tapas list is long and delectable. A little pricy for Entrees, but I'm sold on the tapas. Love it.
