Dainty portions, but nice.
Winter Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to get a taste of expensive food-at a discounted price. The Soup hardly filled one molar--but was good. The Chile Relleno was a party--would definitely order it again! The dessert did it for me..Lime Panna Cotta--cleansed the pallet and was very refreshing. The service was not bad--unfortunately, they were trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible so all the waitors and bus boys were perched..just waiting for us to put our forks down! Hold your forks people--or they'll swipe your dish from under your nose! Suggestion: more room near the 2-seater tables in the back--it's odd to have to pull the table out for your guest to move in and out of the seat...just awkward--just get rid of a couple of tables. Over all, good experience.

Restaurant Week
OK so I had a limited amount of choices since I was looking to save some money but still enjoy the fabulous food. That must have been the problem. Too few choices, and not great ones at that. The soup was just OK, the spicy cesar salad was a better choice. Cod was very bland, chili relleno was the way to go out of the 3 choices (didn't have the 16 spice chicken--seemed boring). Dessert was fine--lime pana cotta or a banana chocolate thing. I wasn't leaving there saying "wow-amazing food". They do have some nice wine deals tho (30$ a bottle). Beats the 10$ price per glass they charge! I don't think I would go back and pay full price. I'm not sure if restaurant week is supposed to sell you on a place...if so then mesa grill dropped the ball. Nice atmosphere (but freezing where they sat us near the door). Good service.

Just great
We went there for lunch during winter restaurant week and it was just terrific. The ambiance was fun, the service was excellent, and the food was simply amazing. I highly recommend the romaine salad for a starter, the chili relleno for an entree, and the banana shortcake for desert. The blue corn bread for a starter was great. I would caution you that you will get charged if you say you want a soda/ice tea refill, so I would recommend that you ask for your soda/ice tea with only a little ice because the ice pretty much takes up the entire glass. But, it is a nicer restaurant and it shouldn't be a complete surprise. We also got a sighting of Bobby Flay and his business partner near our table and in the kitchen for a good part of our meal. It is a great choice.

Excellent food for Brunch, poor service
We went to Mesa Grill today for Brunch. The food was very interesting and quite good, with a great assortment of bread and muffins with tomato jelly. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. After we ate, the bus boy took away my companions cofee cup and left mine, and also left some dishes still on the table. The waiter was not attentive; it took him 10 minutes to replace the coffee cup and he didn't even have enough sense to ask if I wanted a refill. He forgot to bring a spoon after saying he was going to get one. And if Mesa Grill has dessert menu, I will never know, because we were never offered one. When we left, the maitre de was busy gossiping, so she never even said a cheery goodbye, as most do. It is too bad. The food was good, But $60 for Brunch, should buy us a little attention.

Bobby did it right.......
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner experience at Mesa Grill. Unlike some of the other restaurant reviews we read, these are right on. I had the rabbit and my wife had the Tuna. Both were out of this world. Everything was perfect from the food to service to atmosphere. Bobby did it right!

Great dining experience
Had dinner at Mesa in NYC with our 2 teenagers. Everything was wonderful. It was NYC Marathon weekend so every place was jammed. Our table was ready when we walked in,?service was friendly, attentive, but not intrusive and the food was great! Scallops, rabbit, pork tenderloin, steak, chicken--everyone loved what they'd ordered and everything was spicey -- just like we like it!! Food was also a visual feast! The atmosphere was very comfortable. It was a bit pricey but we were celebrating a 50th and 18th birthday so we expected it. Recommend it highly!!
