After having brunch at Mesa Grill, I must say that I really enjoyed everything that I tasted. I not only ate my own dishes, but I tasted my husband's as well. The flavors are right on and the portions are very filling. The service and staff were very professional and friendly. I loved the muffin basket, especially the blueberry crumb. My husband's salad with chorizo was exactly as he expected---delicious!! I ordered the quesadilla appetizer and I could have used it as an entree---it was great!!! For main dishes we shared the 16 spice chicken and the pork sandwich. Both were very flavorfull and nicely presented. We enjoyed it all!!

ive been to mesa grill at least five times over the course of 5 years.. hoping each time that i will change my mind...that maybe his food is great (or at least good). first, i love bobby flay on all the food network shows... so i really want to like his food... but i dont. first, the wait staff and ambience of his restuarant is just fine. his food however, is so overly salted on some dishes, just plain bland or just dont work together. there is never a consistency and there has never been a dish that has ever stood out (except that it tasted horrible). perhaps bobby needs to take a break from all of his shows and get back in the kitchen and teach his chefs at mesa a thing or two?

Food was subpar... though the presentation was excellent. the interior was not too shabby but for NY standards, it was ordinary. The oyster &tuna nachos appetizers were the best part of the night. Had the tenderloin which looked way better than it tasted. the mahi mahi my boyfriend had was dry = overcooked! Waitress was only attentive when it came to giving the bill.

I went to Mesa Grill on Tuesday for lunch with some co-workers. I had high hopes for this place. First off service was poor. We waited 15 minutes before we ever saw a waiter. When we finally did he never asked us if we wanted anything to drink. The food was good. I had the rough cut tuna app., 16 spice chicken and the pineapple parfait. The dessert was the best part of the meal. My biggest complaint is that the waiter never came back after he sereved the food. Never ask us if we wanted refills or if everything was good. Also a waiter spilled the salt shaker on me twice. Once over my head and the second time down my back.

What happend to the great food served with attention to detail? My party of five ordered appetizers, entrees and sides and I am sorry to say- everything was sub par. The flavors lacked dimension and were overpowered by what should have been an infusion . Totally not Bobby Flay- It was a challenge to get service , and when we were graced by the presence of our waiter- the experience was more in the "diner" realm. The crowd reflected a theme park type enviroment.... not my idea of a fine night out in my neighborhood. I don't know what has happened here- but at $150 per person, there are certainly better choices.

ate her last night. i thought the service was so great. you never had to ask for anything. the tuna appetizer and sophie salad were great. i had the 16 spice chicken it was a little to spicy for me but moist my husband had the lamb chops and he could not stop raving. warm chochlate cake for dessert is a must. presentation is great. a very friendly attmosphere. i also love his steak house in atlantic city that is a must for any one who likes his food. a little pricey with drinks and tip came to 180.00

I was sort of disappointed when I went back to this place during President's Day weekend. First, even though we had a reservation, they put us at a way too big of a table in the back. Second, they were out of a number of dishes and appetizers, which amazes me since I would think the restaurant would be sure to know how much food to purchase in advance of a holiday weekend (and what the waitress told us was that it was known that this was one of their busiest days - I should also note that they have been out of other things on past visits too). Third, the food did not "wow" me as it had in the past several times I have gone there. It was good, but just not amazing (i.e., did not match the prices). Fourth, a salt or pepper shaker fell from the mezzaine and dropped on someone's table below. Fifth, a waitress (not ours) was the hitting the booze frequently while she was waiting tables, which I thought was unprofessional (we saw her go behind the structure that I assume houses utensils and glasses, etc. and frequently sipped on a glass of wine while she was working). All in all, this was fairly mediocre for the price and expectations and I would probably not return again.
