Fantastic Martinis & Not Much Else
The dirty Stoli Martini is one of the best in the city. I like it Stoli and I like it dirty and they make it just right. The shrimp quesadillas are pretty good too. Not a very exciting menu though.

terrible burger
My friend and I ordered our "classic burgers" medium-rare. We received burgers that were completely overcooked, dry, and tasteless.

Very high alcohol prices
We had a family lunch here on New Year's eve, after sight-seeing in the Village. The service was friendly and the food good basic fare, but a single shot of Jack Daniels for $7.75 is taking the piss. The price wasn't on the menu and I didn't like the "nasty surprise" tactic used by the management. I won't be going thre again next time I'm in NY.

Ol jane and dick
Situated on seventh ave between 16th and 17th. Merchants is nothing spectacular but safe for any meal of the day. The inside is dim and a good place for afterwork drinks or a date. My friend and I went for brunch, we sat outside but felt we had to fight with the acoustics of everything else. I ordered a tuna nicoise salad. I've had better, but it was fine. my friend ordered eggs benedict traditional and simple. There was no particular emphasis on presentation, the portions were practical, and enough to even share. the service was fine, nothing grand or lacking luster.

Strong Cocktails and Solid Food
I was quite impressed to say the least about Merchants. The menu was moderately priced, and the sandwiches were delectable; appetizers were done very well too. The nachos I would definitely eat again, and would recommend the Chicken Pesto or Chicken Club any day. Everyone at the table was happy with the delish food, but even more so with the cocktails. The margarita was mixed with very good puree, the pink lemonade was classy and liquor packed, and the mojitos blessed my taste buds with sweetness and my vision with blur after two. All in all you really cannot go wrong with this place. The atmosphere is classy, and they have a patio, which is fun in the summer as well. Great food and cocktails.

I love it!
I love to go here with my other girlfriends in the city. I think the atmosphere is great - the fireplace downstairs is nice! The menu has something for everyone and it's reasonably priced!

Good Stuff
The food was great, however, I must add that the other location on 61st and 1st has more of a selection, and a better atmosphere...I would defiitely return...The food is good, but if I had a choice between both Merchant's Restaurants, I would definitely make an effort to go up to 61st for more satisfaction! The waiters and waitresses are also very patient and accommodating here....Good Choice
