    Great time!!

Our party of 8 went to Mercer Kitchen 12/30 and it was a great experience. Two in our party are foodies, (actually one is a chef from CIA) and it was just a wonderful night We were not rushed, the waiters were very attentive and knowledgable about both the food and wine. Jordan Chardonnay was a hit. I would recommend this restaurant highly.

    Poor Management + Reservations

The previous posts regarding poor management and reservation policy are not isolated events. Our party of four arrived promptly at 8:30pm for our reservation and were asked to wait at the bar for a drink. Not unusual in New York. We were patient and accommodating to the staff, but when we asked the MD why there was such a long wait, he revealed that hotel guests have priority. Our party was bumped from our reservation twice in the span of 30 minutes as the guests of the hotel, all but flashing their black Amex cards, casually strolled in to take our place. When we pointed out that we were disappointed with the service, our hosts were stalwart to our complaints and reluctant to make us more comfortable. No free drinks or appetizers, and not even an apology! Instead, their last effort as we walked out the door was to offer us a table upstairs to continue waiting for our imaginary reservation. After wasting an hour it dawned on us that the large MK marque out front didn't stand for Mercer Kitchen, but rather Mood Killer. SoHo was a NoGo. My recommendation: Go to Lucky Strike and drown your sorrows in a pomegranate martini.

    WOW!

We didnt make reservations or even plan to go here, but my boyfriend and I were in soho having a cocktail at the Thompson hotel and decided to pop in at the Mercer Kitchen. The hostess told us we would have to wait till 11 to eat, but it really only ended up being about 30 minutes so ate promptly. The bar scene was great, good drinks. The food was amazing. We ordered 2 apps, the red snapper and two sides... and dessert. Food was excellent, a tad pricey, and the service was great. Great date spot!

    Not worth time or money!

Please do yourself a favor and listen to the negative reviews. I didn't and ended up wasting time and money for food that was actually awful! If you care about food at all go to Savoy down the street!

    Excellent Dining

Love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Very much a loft kind of feel with exposed kitchen in the back. This restaurant offers good food and service. Nice selection of wines by the glass. JUST REMEMBER, don't order sparkling water unless you want to pay $7 for it. Have been to this restaurant a couple of times and would go back again.

    Good lunch

I recently had 2 great lunches at the Mercer Kitchen. One being on Christmas Day. Neither time we had a reservation, but were accomodated quickly. We found service efficient, and food to be tasty and well presented. The prix fixe lunch represents good value. I would return.
