Not recommended
Service was poor. No one came to check on us after our food was brought to the table. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The eggs were overcooked and the potatoes were undercooked. My friend ordered the burger cooked medium and it was rare. Very, very disappointed.

Not worth the hype
Don't get me wrong, this restaurant was average for NY, but for the hype it gets it was not worth it. The salmon was bad, calamari was cold and service was horrible. There were a few tasty things on the menu, don't get me wrong (tuna egg rolls, panna cotta both delicious), but with the several menu items that are sub-par and the poor service, I'm not impressed.

Fabulous
The food was simple but delious. Would highly recommend the chicken and the butterscotch pudding (so good!). What really stood apart was the service, though. Our server was incredibly attentive (without hovering) and actually seemed to care whether we where enjoying our meal. Highly, highly recommend

Do you like salt?
After a very very long wait, I realized that the salt shaker must have been dropped on my food. My companion's food was lukewarm. So they nuked it to heat it up. I was very disappointed and will not return.

Downhill
Mercer kitchen was once one of my favs. Not only has the food quality gone downhill, the service is almost unbearable. I returned tonight for the first time in 4 years and can safely say I will not return. So disappointing.

Too dark, but great food
We here for restaurant week. Food was incredible, but it was entirely too dark inside I could barely see. Nice atmosphere otherwise. Tuna pizza was amazing, as well as the burger. After that I couldnt really enjoy my dessert. Would definitely return again, they do $38 prix fix year round as do all the jean georges branches.
