I called to see if I needed a reservation as a single on a Tuesday night. They told me to walk in, no doubt to preclude giving a reservation to a woman dining alone. I went to this half empty restaurant and was told I would have to wait although the host recalled I had called and there were MANY open tables. If they don't want to seat singles they should find a better way to tell them on the phone. We're full would have saved me the trip. No wonder they were half empty.

Great food and very, very reasonable prices. Small but quaint and great service. I will definitely return

In the middle of our dinner the waiter asked if we would mind being moved to another table to accommodate a larger party waiting to be seated. We replied in kind but never realized that we would be moved instantly. Within seconds, our chairs were abruptly pulled away from beneath us and our plates and glasses were whisked away while still holding forks and swallowing food. Is that any way to treat guests ? We were offered complimentary dessert and coffee as compensation for our trouble. The trouble with that is we were passing on dessert and coffee because it was late into the evening. When we asked for alternate compensation, the manager said NO and later became argumentative... We paid the check and left but will never return! I have never experienced such bad service and arrogant and unaccommodating behavior. This is a "service" business where a good reputation means repeat business. Friends tell friends and they tell friends...I'm telling you, this restaurant is not worth the time and trouble at $100+ for 2.

Went for dinner with group of 5, all enjoyed. Pasta surprisingly good! Portions not too big, just the right size so you can order both an app./salad & dinner and not be too stuffed. Not sure why other reviewers thought wine list was pricey, actually seemed pretty reasonable for NY.

Went for lunch with someone from Italy who said this was the best and most authentic Italian food he has ever had in over 7 years in NY! Delicious. They just need to fix the AC, although no AC makes it even more authentic ;)

I little respite from the city. Felt like I was in a trattoria in Italy!

Overpriced, ordinary food. Small portions. Only expensive bottles of wine. Rushed service and cramped tables.
