Excellent value for the area
Great food! Great value! Great staff! I especially liked the exposed brick and old New York feel. Good service at a party I attended.

Inexpensive, delicious and fast!
I eat here all the time and it's nothing fancy, but everything is tasty, the service is friendly and it's fast. It's a great place for a quick visit during a lunch hour. You never feel rushed, but they get you in and out.

Very reasonable
I tried Mercantile Grill for lunch with 3 of my colleagues recently. We were all pretty impressed with the food. The service was excellent and the manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was ok. We'll definitely go back.

Disappointing
Went for lunch 7/2 with 7 others. Seated at put together rectangle in the bar area interfering with others nearby. Ordered a salad with pears, roasted pecans, goat cheese, arugula with vinegairette. The pears were CANNED. Yucch. Bad quality food. Colleague had a tuna melt - said it was the worst she had ever had. Stay away.

OK but Less than I expected
I went there for lunch - just a burger and a beer. With tip, the bill was just under $20. The service was quick and pleasant and the beer was cold and tasty. The food, however, was just passable. The burger was obviously pre-cooked and the bun was stale. The fries were lukewarm and the pickle was....odd. I think I'd go back for a drink but I'd be hard-pressed to want to return for a meal.

Not bad at all.
Craving something big and meaty, I ordered the spicy turkey burger today for delivery. They agreed to exchange my fries for a salad, and it was probably the most impressive side salad I've seen. Loads of onions, carrots, and peppers along with a couple of tomatoes and enough lettuce that it could've been my main course. The burger itself was pretty bland, not spicy at all, but it was covered in cheese and peppers, so overall, I'd say it wasn't a bad meal at all.

Great Place! You have to go!
We go here every friday. This place is great. The Mercantile burger is awesome- so much blue cheese and big! I subsituted salad for fries and the salad was beautiful and I didn't get charged extra. The Samuel Adams white beer was also great- it's seasonal but if you like your beer a little fruity (think magic hat #9) you will love it. I look foward to it every week. Yum! I get to go today- can't wait!
