    Light & Fresh Mexican

I thought this place was great. Went for an early dinner w/a friend on a Saturday night. Seated immediately. Red Sangria was really good and food was delicious - made w/fresh ingredients and very light which is not typical Mexican. We enjoyed it very much and were pleasantly surprised when the bill came. $57 (w/out tip) for 2! 4 Sangrias; one guacamole; 2 entrees. Can't beat that in NYC! I would definitely recommend and plan on going again soon.

Gone downhill since the heavenly days

Their guacamoles used to be awesome and memorable, now it doesn't taste that great anymore. So was everything else, it's disappointing, including their famous wild mushroom botanas. What happened? Did their chef retired or moved on to somewhere else?!

    Nice variety of tacos, salsas

Good place to eat Mexican without feeling heavy afterwards. Guacamole and salsas are all good, stick with standard taco selection: chicken, beef, pork. Fish tacos maybe the best.

    Good food! Poor service

Food was delicious, love the tacos! the manager was not good! Really rude with the clients! Don't know how the servers can deal with this guy!

    Overpriced

We went to Mercadito this past weekend and it was truly disappointing. The food was all right for Mexican but the portions were tiny. I've gone to many Mexican restaurants in the city, and this one really does not top the charts. The guacamole was like a mini ice cream scoop, and the tacos were comparable to mini appetizers. Good drinks, but the bill came to $95, not sure where the money was spent. Would not return.

    Damn good!

Delicious food, especially the botanas. The sampler is great, you might want to order two. It's a little expensive, but so much better than your normal Village burrito shops. And the soft tacos, too! They're definitely worth trying many different ones.

    best mexican food ever

I usually like mexican food as a snack, I never find it that interesting, an d always quite the same flavours. For the very first time I hade a VERY good dinner. All entrees, main courses, and drinks were exceptional. The place itself is not great looking, but due to the extreme kindness of all the staff, the atmosphere is really nice. I'll go back, and I'll suggest the place to all my firends
