Chilly day fix
Haven't been in 5 years or so. Today being damp and chilly needed Tan Tan fix. Just as good as ever as well as the portions.

Agree, Menkui-Tei seems to be changing
I have been going to Menkui-Tei for about 4 years. I loved their very rich pork-based broth. Recently I went and it tasted diluted. When I asked the waiter for the soy sauce he asked me if I wanted some extra soup-base instead. I said "sure", and when I added the extra soup base, THEN the soup tasted like it had before. I gather they're trying to save money by making more soup out of the same amt. of stock, but it's losing its essence in the process. I still go there, though; I still like it. LOVE their dumplings. I wonder where the very tall silent guy went. He doesn't seem to be there anymore.

Bad everything
I love Ramen and I never had such a poor one. First looking at it reminded me of the noodle soup you can buy for a $1. I asked Ginger on my order ( I picked it up. No delivery ) and they fortgot . I will never go back there

Shrinking noodles
I agree with previous post - I've been feasting on their ramen for years and I too noticed smaller portions and inferior ingredients - I've noticeed employee changes - - the older ramen chefs behind the counter are gone & now replaced by a younger set - perhaps the restaurant has changed owners ? its still good but was far superior in the past .......

Anyone notice their portions got smaller?
I started coming here 5 or 6 years ago. The bowls of ramen were huge, fresh ingredients and just very tasty. Over the last year, however, I've noticed that the amount of ramen in each bowl (though the bowls themselves are the same super large size) have gotten less and less, the pieces of pork that come with some are much smaller, and the ingredients taste like they come from a can. I'll still come here, but probably not as much as I used to. Sad.

Great place for authentic Japanese food
Really like a restaurant in Japan - food is authentic, and delicious. It's small, so you might have to wait, and it's cash only. However, it's worth it
