    Innovative Burgers!

Good burgers, fries ambiance and ok service. I had the (Fantastic) LES burger it has a burger topped w brisket, cole slaw etc YUMMO! The loaded potato fries sour cream, bacon and chives was good. My friend had the cowboy and he loved it. I'm a bit of a foodie, not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I thought this was a great neighborhood spot. Can't wait to go back!

    Original burger?

The "original" burger comes with soggy white toast instead of a bun. Is that how Mel's started out - hence "original"? Or does "original" here mean "not derived from something else, fresh and unusual" (American Heritage Dictionary)?

    Poorest delivery experience ever

I've never been so disappointed with a delivery order. After poor service on the phone placing my order, I received the wrong order, one of my entrees didn't come and a side order didn't come. I had a feeling this would happen because the woman wasn't listening on the phone. I ordered a veggie burger and it wasn't the same as it was on the menu (when I called they apologized), the veggie burger was really unappetizing. As a vegetarian I've had veggie burgers from all over the place, this is by far the poorest I've ever had- it was an uncooked red unidentifiable patty that was cold and falling apart in soggy cold bread. I couldn't eat it, I was so hungry that I had to eat the fries that were also very unappetizing. The fries were cold and hard in some places, soggy in others, I gagged several times while I ate this. My mom ordered the Broadway burger, it was rock hard and the bread was also cold and soggy. Do not order food from here! It's also ridiculously expensive. I spoke to the manager and got my money back for everything.

    Good hamburger but long wait

Ordered for pick up and even after getting there 30 minutes after waiting they had still not brought us our food but it was really worth the wait.

    Bad delivery

Had to give them two credit card numbers, since my debit card "wasn't working" for some unknown reason and should have been perfectly fine. Took an hour to get me my burger and fries. Burger is okay, but fries are a clump of soggy mess. Had to put them under the broilerr to crisp up and become edible. Hope they get it together. Bad service and food lost its appeal in the travel to my apartment 6 blocks away.

    new neighborhood favorite!

We first came here with a groupon, and really enjoyed our burgers and beers. It's true that the burgers don't come with fries, and they aren't particularly cheap. But, they are delicious and aren't exactly what I'd call "expensive" either. On our second trip, I expanded my horizons by ordering the chopped cobb salad. I cannot recommend it enough!! Now it's the only thing I order. I know, I know a salad at a burger place. But it's delightfully unhealthy with tons of crispy bacon and really nice juicy chicken breast. We also had the fried oreos, which were fantastic. It's like an oreo, inside a donut! brilliant!! I will say, my bf got the prime rib dip last time, and I was less impressed with that. It was a bit small for the price, but it was tasty. Overall, I think Mel's is a great addition to the neighborhood, and is sure better than the restaurant that was in this space before.
