It was about 9PM when we walked in for restaurant week without a reservation but by that time there were many empty tables already. The hostess still made us wait 30 mins despite the many tables that were available. We ordered additonal appetizers to go with our meal, none which were memorable. The entrees were dismal. I had ordered the rack of lamb and I don't even remember what my date had. The food wasn't memorable and way overpriced, even for restaurant week. Needless to say, I am never going back to Megu.

Service was wonderful. Waitress was very attentive and knowledgable. The entrees were an absolute joke! The sea bass grilled on a stone was tasteless. The sashimi, however, was very fresh. Appetizers are better than the entrees. IF i come back, I would order only appetizers.

I went here for a valentines day celebration, we knew it would be expensive but figured it would be worth it. IT WASN'T!! I was so disappointed, the salmon tartar was good but i've had better. And while the fish i had for an entree was good, it was no bigger than a 5 year old's fist, oh and of course there was the generous 3 pieces of asparagus underneath, please! Not to mention my boyfriend got a salmon dish that cooked at the table, and the waiter told him to leave it and then left, by the time he came back to dish it out,the fish had overcooked. Also, the waiter never even introduced himself as our waiter, I'm just guessing he was. Anyway, completely and totally not worth the money!!

My husband and I went here for restaurant week. Our waiter came to take our food order even before he asked us if we would like anything to drink. Our food came out in about 5 min, and it seemed as though they were trying to rush us. I got the feeling that since it was restaurant week, they were trying to get as many people through as they could to make the most money. The food was nothing spectacular, I ordered the omakase and sushi roll for dinner which included very basic sushi like tuna, yellowtail, etc. Maybe this place is better if you order off the regular menu, but def not worth it for restaurant week. Go to bond street, MUCH better sushi.

Very impressed with the attention to detail of service from everyone in the restaurant from the hostess to the waiter to the manager making sure we were having the best possible dining experience. And don't forget the food - loved the kobe beef with the hennesey flambay. It is so tasty. Never had kobe beef like it. Would recommend it anytime.

I was very skeptical about going because of the other reviews. But all my friends who went thought it was amazing. I've been to the downtown location before and was absolutely blown away by both the food and the atmostphere. But I was not sure about the Midtown location. So, I decided to go with my boyfriend for a special occassion dinner. Once we got there, we were so happy because the amibiance was so romantic and we felt so welcomed by the staff. The food started to arrive and everything looked amazing! My boyfriend is not such a fish lover so he ate the kobe beef all night and was very impressed. I had some delicious shrimp in cream sauce and the silver cod which is the best cod i've ever had! Overall, we were really impressed and i would definately recommend going there!

This was the most disappointing $500 meal I've ever eaten in the city. I've been to Megu downtown before and thought it was pretty good so I was expecting the same quality etc. We got the omakase (tasting menu) for $120/person (and were almost forced to pair that with a bottle of sake) so I was expecting to get a good sampling of their specialties but got absolute rubbish - the food was undercooked and tasteless, the service was okay and the ambience wasnt worth the $300-$500 bucks.
