My colleagues and I had lunch and most of us ordered the bento. From the appetizer that was served in elegant dishes to the desserts, everything about this restaurant is par excellence! We got treated to restaurant week pricing and it was the best value in NYC. If you love sushi, don't miss this place. Will definitely add this to my favorite restaurant list.

Megu has very very good food if you don't mind the price! Thier sushi is fantastic and thier shrimp tempura is as well. They also have an amazing drink there called "a blessing". Order it, you won't regret it.

I went here for lunch last week with 5 co-workers. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant. We arrrived at 11:30 (to be able to talk and eat) and did not leave until 2:15. I can see when a place is busy, that this could happen, but did I mention we were the only people in the restaurant! The food was ok. I will never go back there and if I want sushi.. i'd probably go to Yama around the corner!

I happen to love this place! The kobe beef cooking on a hot rock was pretty neat and delicious, the sushi was fresh, and the crepe cake dessert was awesome! I have gone back just for their dessert and it was just a wonderful experience every time! The service was very friendly and polite and very helpful with any questions you have. I don't get any sense of stuffiness from the staff and the decor is nicely conducive to a fancy meal experience. Highly recommend it if you're in the area!

I am not keen on Japanese food. I don't prefer raw fish and have always been weary of sushi, but my wife wanted to try megu in the UN. We heard downtown was more hip and we are a bit older to fit in there. She dragged me and I am so glad she did. We went for dinner and there were two menus. a restaurant week one which we didn't even look at and the main dining one. I did not order sushi, my wife did and she said it was "good" but I couldn't tell you. The appetizers we ordered were rich and so flavorful my mouth waters when I think about them still. The red miso soup looked scary at first but you cuold taste how true japanese it was. I have been dragged to Nobu and I have to say that Megu is far better not just with food, but the service as well. Glasses always filled, The server recommended dishes when i told her I did not like raw fish that were impeccable, and managers were associating themselves and talking with the customers. It was a great atmosphere. My wife just said that the YellowTail carpaccio was her favorite. She said the fish was delicious and it was just the right kind of spicy. She still remembers it and we were there two weeks ago. I guess this is a true japanese restaurant and it blew me out of the water/ I will definitely go back again. The menu was so overwhelming and the raw/cooked ratio was about even so if you are like me and a little squirmish, try this place. You won't regret it.

Dont listen to these negative reviews, this place is great- went a few weeks ago with my girlfriend and had a top notch experience. Service was attentive, got to talk to the owner, and the food was top notch (although pricey). Gorgeous room. Highly recommended

Went here for restaurant week. I was very excited, but I guess I should not expect too much. I've been to many, many restaurants in my life and one thing I've learned is not to expect too much simply because the restaurant is expensive. Even though the restaurant week prices were a good deal less than the normal prices, I felt I wasted my time and wallet. Our soup and salad came AFTER our entrees. And I'm not sure why, but there was no spoon served with the soup. We were charged for something that we didn't order and had to fix the mistake. For some reason, the food tasted like fast food. I was not impressed.
