It is embarrassing how bad the service is at this restaurant. My wife and I went out with another couple for dinner. Each of us ordered an appetizer and a main course. After a bit of a wait, the waiter brings out all the appetizers except for mine. After 20 minutes and multiple requests for my appetizer, the waiter brings out my main course without the appetizer. After commenting, the waiter took back my main and brought my appetizer out. They must have left the main on the side, because it was cold when it was brought back to the table. The manager tried to smooth out the situation by giving us a free bottle of champagne. However, the bad service continued as it took 20 minutes and 3 requests to get the check at the end of the night

Food was OK. The sake list didn't have any bottle under $90....very disappointing. Nice atmosphere, good wine and mediocre food. We ordered the kobe beef (just OK) and the cod (better but not outrageous). Rice was ordinary...Glad we went during restaurant week.

Thought it would be a fun, somewhat decadent treat after a lecture at the Japan Society. Didn't have a reservation, and was asked to go to the bar. Waited 30 minutes, and was seated at one of the many tables that were empty when we first arrived (we wrongly assumed they were being saved for reservations—clearly they just wanted to penalize us for not having a reservation.) Sushi is extremely expensive, yet no better than any corner sushi place. Service was attentive, but waiter was clearly on the up-sell, pushing the most expensive items on the menu. Experience was offensive and unpleasant. Very disappointing—avoid at all costs (no pun intended).

The restaurant is very chic and trendy. I went for lunch during restaurant week and felt the prices were exceptional. It includes an app, entree and 2 desserts. The food was excellent and the service, although good was a little slow. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and I would go back.

I have to say I was suprised since my 1st experience few years ago was OK, this time it was really good, not cheap though. The cod was excellent so was the asparagus and even the chicken! Yea, why order chicken at a sushi place but we did and it was good. Defenitely go back.

The atmosphere and service were great. Sushi was OK. The quality of ingredients were also fine. Unfortunately, the food were so not impressive. I guess it's a place for those who doesn't know or understand the authentic Japanese cuisine. I love fusion when it's done "right", but often it's confused with yuzu flavored blah, blah, xxxinfused what ever....when those weren't even necessary in the dish. They do use good quality of fish and other ingredient, so I hope they re-examine their menu and deliver more solid dishes that meets with the price.

My colleagues and I had lunch and most of us ordered the bento. From the appetizer that was served in elegant dishes to the desserts, everything about this restaurant is par excellence! We got treated to restaurant week pricing and it was the best value in NYC. If you love sushi, don't miss this place. Will definitely add this to my favorite restaurant list.
