I bumped into Mediterraneo by chance and it has since been my favourite place to eat pasta. I am very particular about my pasta. Prefer home made versus the off the shelf pasta that most restaurants use. Mediterraneo uses only home made pasta and they have amazing sauces to accompany you with the pasta. Their gnocchi is also to die for. Appetizers are good but not excellent.

Thin crust, moist, but not soggy, pizza. Pasta al dente with sweet clams. Waiters who notice when you need them, but don't hover. No waiting for the check. Dine indoors or out in this colorful neighborhood eatery that welcomes you whether you're from the neighborhood or not.

If you don't have the time to fly to florence, just stop by this place.... believe me this is as authentic as you will get in new york!!! Try the focaccia fiorentina for a delicious taste of a typical tuscan snack. Buon Appetito!!!!

The food is a sure bet, it is always good, but the service is never on the mark. Generally, I think that a visit is an enjoyable experience.
