The food is definitely worth the wait. Try and go early, no reservations...hang out at the bar and grab an app. My fav is their fettuccine ai porcini and a crab meat entre with pasta! YUM. Their pizzas are great for lunch. Try the grilled or fried calamari...its perfectly seasoned! Oh, and the creme brulle....Ah!

My best friend and I had a lovely lunch and the service was wonderful! I don't understand where the folks were the night they had such a terrible experience. But alas, to each his/her own. We will be back...

Love the atmoshere...food is good...pizza great...the only problem is management and staff...they rush you through your meal and then stare at you and hover over your table to get you to pay and turn over the table to the next patron...this is not by accident...I have been a customer for 2 years and the scenario never changes...They should change so that one could enjoy themselves and not feel rushed and intimadated...

Have you ever been banned from a restaurant for nothing worse than taking 2 hours over a 3-course meal with wine, and playing with a napkin? Well that's what Mediterraneo did to me, after 4 years as a very regular customer. Of course, this was after I questioned the fact that the minute we had paid the bill they laid the table with fresh silverware and napkins right in front of us, never once asking us first if we'd mind leaving (and there was no line). The food is great - but expect to be treated like poorly, if they even bother serving you at all...

The food was surprisingly good even though the restaurant was jammed packed on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The salad with shrimp and capers was wonderfully refreshing. The pasta with fish was very good too! A nice resting spot for food and drink on a Sunday afternoon.

I had heard nice things about this restaurant but I was so disappointed with it. It has a really nice atmosphere but the server we got was rude. We got no bread plates, no olive oil, no service- he took away my fork and knife midway through the meal and never reappeared to see. Had to get up and get more from another table (he did notice that the silverware was gone from that table and brought the empty table more silverware, just not us) we had to flag down a water guy to grab our server in the end just to get the check. The meal was not good. My husband had a really bordeline so-so steak. I had the tagliolini with crab and it was not good. Our view of the food was probably colored by our terrible service but this was one of the worst meals I've had in new york.

I bumped into Mediterraneo by chance and it has since been my favourite place to eat pasta. I am very particular about my pasta. Prefer home made versus the off the shelf pasta that most restaurants use. Mediterraneo uses only home made pasta and they have amazing sauces to accompany you with the pasta. Their gnocchi is also to die for. Appetizers are good but not excellent.
