I stopped here with a colleague for a late business lunch and we were both very impressed. The staff was excellent and the food was very good as well. Prices were great for NYC prices, especially considering the good size portions. I will definitely return!

Great food and ambience. Service is good but sometimes you need to be assertive if the place is busy. I love the pizza bread for the table and the pizzas taste like ones we enjoyed in Italy.

Recommended it to my friends the other night and had horrible risotto.

We decidedd to meet there and eat outside because one of my friends was bringing her dog. I got there 45 minutes early, was seated and when I told the waiter I was early, the hostess asked me to move to the bar so they could use the table. No problem. About 15 minutes later my friend with the dog arrived, there was a table free but now they decided not to seat us until we were all there. They would not let her inside their table area, she had to stand on the sidewalk and would not let me outside the table area with my wine. We stood, she outside their low fence marking their seating area and I inside, talking. Then the owner (very unpleasant and rude man) told me I had to move inside to the bar. The table was still empty. Well when my third friend arrived, and after many unpleasant conversations with him and the hostess, they seated us at the table that had been empty the entire time. The pizza was good but the fried calamari soggy. The dessert, coconut sorbet in a coconut shell was melted soup. There are many other restaurants in the neighborhood just as good within the same price range. Obviously I will never eat there again.

Busy and crowded but our waiter was most attentive despite having to attend to a crowd. My wife had a thin pasta con vongole and I had a fettucine with granchio. Both paste and condimenti were as good as the best we had in Naples. Prices were fair for the quality. Had a wondeful tiramisu that we shared. Had read negative comments in re the service but that was not evident the evening that we were there. Highly recommend.

Pricey but the steak was excellent (tagliata toscana) and the salad was fresh , tasty and served beautifully. What's hard to believe? My steak knife was dull so I asked for another. I was told that they have no more by a very apologetic waiter. I used the regular knife and it was better than the steak knife. I then noticed that a busboy was standing around the table next to me with a cleaning cloth in his hand as two young women, finished with their meal, continued to chat. He hovered about for a while and when the women made no move to leave, he wiped off their table AND set down fresh linen and clean knives and forks for the next customers! This has to be the rudest thing I've ever seen in any restaurant and I eat out at least twice a week! Hard to believe. Wonderful food, waiter was kind, pleasant and efficient. It will take me a while to get over my shock and return.

After hearing some 'not so good' reviews on the service of this restaurant, my friend convinced me to nonetheless try the pizza so many rave about. And I am glad I did. I ordered the Mediterraneo Pizza, with fresh shrimp and capers, finishing it within seconds. Regarding the service, I saw no 'in your face' moments of poor service; what does happen though is that Med gets filled up fast with a small wait usually around dinner time. Food doesnt always come out in a timely manner so go when you have time to chill...not when you're pressed for time with theatre tickets. I would definitely recommend this place...especially the Mediterraneo Pizza.
