Stopped by for lunch with a friend on a beautiful day. We sat outside. That was the only good thing about our luncheon. The Frittura Di Zucchini E Melanzane was not fried but limp circles of sautéed zucchini. There was no eggplant in the dish as listed. The Mediterraneo pizza was practically raw. The crust was thin but not crisp. The top of the pie's ingredients were all cold. After eating half of it and being dissatisfied, we sent it back to be heated. Location is NOT everything. The food here is not representative of Italian cuisine, which even at a lower-end "red sauce" place can be fulfilling to the diner. Save your money, you've been warned.

Have been to Mediterraneo a few times this summer, the food is generally good, but.last night the service we received was ridiculous. The server was arrogant, poor attitude and just made us feel totally unwelcome. If you like to feel like they are doing you a favor by letting you eat there, then go to Mediterraneo!

I've been here before and found it to be pleasant although the food varies from mediocre to pretty good. Today's experience was really unpleasant. Our waiter didn't understand our order and got it wrong. When we spoke to the manager, he was unhelpful and, in response to my request for 'well-done' chicken, asked me if I wanted it to be burnt. This is a pricey neighborhood place and I will not be going back.

I live in the neighborhood and go here all the time. The food is delicious but be prepared for horrible service. The waiters are not attentive at all, they are always joking around behind the bar. They never refill your water glass, they never bring plates with the bread, and it takes forever to get the check. It is the best pasta in the neighborhood I just wish the service was better.

Always have great food, great service. Pasta is super fresh, pizzas are delicious, thin crust, yet substantial well done! Service is very good. This is one of the best on the upper east side.

I went there today for lunch and the food was disappointing. The pizza looked like it was stuck in the microwave from the freezer. The grilled tomatoes in my salad were cold and my goat chesee was mozzarella cheese. I am very upset because this resturaunt used to be so good. Now I don't know what it is and I am really turned off.

My friends met my wife and I at this old timer. I ate here often when it first opened as I lived across the street in that land of no restaurants. I was much younger, more tolerant, and not as experienced in the culinary world. I must say I was embarrassed that I actually recommended it. We arrived to a rude host, told to stay at the bar and will not be seated until the entire party was there. There were plenty of tables, and 3 of the 4 where there. I asked what if we were only 3, you would be giving us the same table and we were ready to order drinks and appetizers. His resonse was "but you are 4 and you have to wait for your entire party". It was like a Seinfeld episode. So we did as we were told and went to the bar. The bartender took our drink order, and then the takeout phone rang. She was on the phone for more than 10 minutes and the idea of multi-tasking or asking them to hold didn't cross her mind. So we waited at the bar, with a heater blasting on us for 10 minutes. We were then greeted by our 4th and sat at one of the many tables. I must say the server was so nice! Food was very average at best and I remember clearly why I never liked this place from the attitude to the food.
